Collins Aerospace is currently seeking student engineers for our Quality Engineering department located in Jamestown, ND. Team culture is extremely collaborative and engaging; we value our customer, our products, and our people (that means you). You will work directly with Quality Engineers and Quality Control (Precision Inspection, Assembly Inspection, Receiving Inspection, and CMM Programming) to assist the Quality Engineering team with the following:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Development of quality initiative strategies and implementation. 
  • Monitor and improve internal processes using standard continuous improvement tools (Statistical Process Control charts, Poka-yoke, etc.)
  • Performs escape management procedures such as containment and root cause analysis. 
  • Devise testing plans, methods, and equipment to assure reliability of product while working with the Design team. Works directly with Operations and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure product meets design requirements.
  • Identifies and manages risk in new product development utilizing and driving Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) core elements (e.g. PFMEA, Measurement System Analysis, Process Flow, and Control Plans).
  • Responsible for development and implementation of new inspection technologies and methodologies to improve inspection processes while assuring product conformance (i.e. vision scanning, laser scanning).
  • Develop and implement sampling and inspection planning for product. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the information under this program/contract
  • This position is full-time, Monday-Friday, and will run May/June through December; it is only eligible for current students with a graduation date past December 2024.
  • May be eligible for relocation

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
