Job Description:

Nebraska Public Media is searching for an individual to join our dynamic team as an Assistant Chief Engineer. We are seeking an experienced and innovative individual to contribute to the technical excellence and operational efficiency of our broadcasting systems and infrastructure. The key duty of the Assistant Chief Engineer is to assist the Network Operations Chief Engineer in installation, maintenance, administration, operation, integration, and monitoring of broadcast and non-broadcast technical equipment. Assist the Network Operations Chief Engineer in installation, integration, operation and maintenance of Nebraska Public Media Television, Radio, Satellite, Digital and Terrestrial IP, Broadcast and Non- Broadcast Systems and Infrastructure following the Chief Engineer's direction.

Monitor and inform Chief Engineer of any network discrepancies and make appropriate recommendations for resolution.

Knowledge of:

Broadcast systems configurations, workflows and multiplatform distributions. FCC rules and regulations. PC skills including proficiency with Microsoft offices; IT & Network skills on broadcast related, IP based applications. Ability to work on both IP based broadcast equipment and legacy broadcast equipment.

$24.84/hr starting pay that is commensurate with education and experience upon approval.

REQUIREMENTS:

At least three years of experience in broadcasting electronics - television, radio or cable operations; graduation from a recognized vocational technical school in electronics may be substituted for one year of experience.

OTHER: May be required to travel to remote broadcast sites driving a State-owned vehicle; must possess valid driver's license.
