A role you will love

The Assistant Manager’s main responsibilities of this role are to manage and enhance the payment and share certificate replacement process for shareholders, to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and client's requirements, and to handle any escalated or potential issues in a timely and professional manner. This involves overseeing the daily operations of the payment and share certificate replacement process, updating the procedure according to the changes in regulations, and monitoring the performance and quality of the service. Additionally, this role requires servicing and improving the shareholder experience, developing contingency plans for business continuity, liaising with banks for stop payment requests, and identifying and resolving any risks, near misses or red flags that may arise.

You will be leading a team of 10, and therefore would have to encompass managerial and leadership capabilities.

Some of your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Payment and Share Certificate Replacement Operations
  • Monitor overall performance of the replacement process, ensure high standard service is delivered to shareholders and to the satisfaction of management and as per client’s requirements.
  • Process Improvement & Support
  • Take up projects and drive initiatives where assigned to and support new product development. Address escalated matters in accordance with relevant handling procedures, code of conduct and ensure timely follow up and until satisfactory closure of the matter.
  • Lead internal communications efforts through active communications to team members including regular meetings, announcements and reports. 
  • Cross train team members to upskill their skillsets for fully support between teams in peak season. 
  • Carry out any ad-hoc duties assigned by the Team Head 

What will you bring to the role? 

We are looking for a degree holder with at least three years of supervisory and operational experience, preferably in the banking or securities sector. You should be self-driven, responsible, and eager to learn and grow with us. You should also be able to adapt to our culture and values, and do things the right way. You should have strategic thinking, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent communication skills in English, Mandarin and Cantonese, both spoken and written. 

As an Assistant Manager in Shareholder Operations, you will need to pay attention to detail and use your technical experience and judgment to resolve problems and select solutions. You will also need to follow clear policies and procedures, and train and develop other leaders within your team.

Other key skills required for the role include:

  • Proficient in PC skills including MS Excel and Word
