Description

We are seeking to fill the position of Qualitative Research Data Analyst who will provide support to the Principal Investigators. The role will be ideal for a current graduate student or recent graduate from a Ph.D. program with an extensive background in qualitative data analysis, as well as background and interest in poverty policy, inequality, and program evaluation with specific interest and experience in qualitative research.

In this role, the data analyst will work with the PI(s) on analyzing and writing data analysis summaries of extensive data collected from a field-based qualitative research study of a pilot project to provide guaranteed income payments to low-income recipients and track their experiences over time. The project is part of a larger randomized experiment, allowing insight across methodological approaches.

Salary is commensurate with experience with a targeted range of $25-$35 an hour. Review of applications will begin immediately and for best consideration please apply immediately.

Responsibilities

The Junior Research Data Analyst will work closely with the PI(s). The primary responsibilities for this role on both projects will include:

  • Support principal researchers with analyzing qualitative research data from longitudinal analysis and write up summaries, including findings;
  • Help to manage small research team of research assistants, including assigning and monitoring tasks.
  • Ongoing data management and organization for all the project data.
  • Coordinate, attend, and help to lead project meetings.
  • Must have strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Write project reports for submission to research partners and funders

Qualifications

  • Graduate education (PhD) with qualitative research course work and direct experience, preferably in sociology.
  • Advanced qualitative research and data analysis skills, including knowledge and use of software for data coding, organization and analysis (e.g. NVivo or Dedoose)
  • Ability to work with mixed methods and connect qualitative and quantitative analyses
  • Self-starter with excellent organization and project management skills
  • Ability to coordinate and be accountable for multiple tasks
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft, Google Docs, and NVivo (preferred)
