Your Opportunity

In this position as a Co-op/Summer/Intern Student, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a team of engineers and designers on multiple projects for a range of clients. This is a great opportunity for a motivated, energetic individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment.

The role of a Co-op/Summer/Intern Student is to perform a variety of assignments within the process engineering discipline under the direct supervision of a Senior Designer or Engineer. Tasks may include preparing drawings and assisting with the design of process systems to support various unit operations including but not limited to fermentation, separation, crystallization, evaporation, filtration, polymerization, isomerization and supporting critical utility systems within FDA regulated facilities.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with and assist Chemical and Process Engineers and Designers.
  • Assist team to monitor and analyze data from processes and experiments.
  • Perform basic calculations to analyze and design chemical processes using company standard and proprietary manufacturer software.
  • Assist in basic interpretation and verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices.
  • Assist development of safety procedures to be employed by workers operating equipment or working near ongoing chemical reactions.
  • Assist the team in providing support services during projects that can include submittal reviews, permits, responses to requests for information and contract document clarifications.
  • Assist in facility commissioning, qualification, and validation activities.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under and meet tight deadlines independently and within a project team.
  • Ability to solve problems using sound engineering judgment, creativity, and innovation.
  • Strong work ethic and motivation to learn.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of software programs including AutoCAD and Revit. Experience with ASPEN and other process modeling and simulation software packages is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of fluid and heat transfer calculations.
  • Commitment to a culture of safety.

Education and Experience

Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university or similar.

The candidate should have the ability to periodically report to either the Albany, NY office, or the Burlington, MA office, and work remotely from a home office. Some field work may be required.
