Job Opportunity: 

The Taft Hartley Sales team, in the A&H/Medical Stop Loss division of Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has an exciting opportunity for a Regional Labor Specialist-Account Executive. This role will assist in new sales activities and provide customer support for the BHSI Taft-Hartley and Public Entity Segment, by developing strong relationships with union customers and targeting new customers, and new business, in the assigned territory. This role could be based out of our Boston MA, Chicago, IL, or Plymouth Meeting PA office. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop strong relationships with Fund Administrators and TPAs who support BHSI clients, and producers associated with customers.
  • Develop relationships with union customers and target prospects in assigned territory.
  • Coordinate with Taft-Hartley underwriter and sales team to assist with new and renewal opportunities.
  • Participate in implementation meetings with new clients and aid to secure important documents needed to issue a policy. 
  • Facilitate client and producer requests for resolution.
  • Identify new producers and prospects for referral to regional sales directors
  • Represent BHSI at customer and prospect events in assigned territory, and represent BHSI at national conferences as needed.
  • Update database systems regularly including DY, TH database, and customer database.
  • Participate in BHSI and Medical Stop Loss cross-functional team opportunities.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience. 
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a business development role, Insurance account management/ business development experience with Labor/Taft-Hartley, preferred.
  • Health care/ancillary benefit experience.
  • Demonstrated Relationships with producers/TPAs or union staff.
  • Must reside in a major metro area of the United States, with a BHSI office.
  • Ability to travel overnight by car or plane – this role will require up to 50% travel in the assigned territory. 
  • Passionate and professional demeanor that supports a collaborative and team-oriented environment, and able to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • All candidates must have permanent work authorization in the United States
