This position requires that the Postdoctoral Fellow display significant knowledge and expertise in angiogenesis, vascular remodeling, exercise physiology, diabetes, metabolism, vascular disease in diabetes, and peripheral arterial disease. The fellow will be expected to design and interpret experiments and, based upon experience, be able to understand and communicate result of experiments. The incumbent will participate in virtually all lab projects and in writing papers and grant applications and is expected to develop independent research programs as time permits. The incumbent will also be expected to attend and participate in laboratory meetings, and related seminars, as well as work with graduate students and postdoc fellows in the laboratory.
Minimum education: Ph.D. and/or M.D. Experience in the areas of mechanisms of blood vessel growth, cell injury and repair, Mitochondria regulation and exercise physiology is a plus. The Postdoctoral Fellow should also have competency in a wide range of laboratory techniques, including PCR, qRT-PCR, tissue culture, animal models, etc.
