Your role at Chanel:

Holding a key role in the Business Finance team, you will be responsible for business-partnering with the Fashion Director and key stakeholders across the business, providing both financial and non financial information and insights to challenge and support strategic decision-making. You will have ownership of the full UK and Ireland P&L, whilst coaching and managing an Assistant Management Accountant and a Junior Finance Business Partner to deliver actuals, forecasts and budgets.

What impact you can create at Chanel:

  • Shape and drive the profitability of the division and provide commercial insights to drive strategy.
  • Responsible for preparing the monthly and quarterly forecast, annual budgets and MTP for UK & Ireland
  • Manage key stakeholder relationships to deliver business requirements and manage budgets
  • Build strategic presentations with the Head of Business Finance and Fashion Director
  • Prepare and present parts of the Fashion monthly business review providing insightful commentary and analysis
  • Oversee the preparation of weekly trade reporting prepared by the Junior Finance Business Partner
  • Own and deliver timely and accurate results to assist in decision making:
  • Oversee the monthly management reporting process for the UK & Ireland Fashion business with the Assistant Management Accountant. Ensure alignment with accounting standards and policies.
  • Participate in monthly budget holder reviews to capture and highlight risks and opportunities for monthly forecasts
  • Oversee the preparation of a monthly financial reporting pack including P&Ls, balance sheet reconciliations and capex summary
  • Close the year end accounts and support the year end audit
  • Implement governance around capex to be able to report on actual and forecast spend by project. Manage the boutique tool, support Real Estate review processes and prepare capital expenditure requests.
  • Ownership of all financial submissions (actuals, forecasts and budget) to the Global Corporate team
  • Play a pivotal role in driving governance and improving the financial processes within the Fashion division. Drive efficiencies through systems and automation.

  • Strong finance knowledge and understanding of financial principles and management reporting. Using this skill, partner and understand the needs of the business, working towards solutions to allow the business to make swift, informed decisions. Excellent analytical and planning skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and multi-task, use own initiative and work autonomously when required.
  • Flexible with good time management and excellent verbal and written communication skills including the confidence and ability to communicate effectively with senior management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to connect with partners, building effective relationships.
  • Ability to draw and present key business conclusions from analysis and anticipate scenarios.
  • Demonstration of being a team-player.
  • Professionalism and ability to act with unwavering discretion.
