Job Description

SG GSC is seeking an Lead System Engineer – Data Center Network with 10-12 years’ experience to be a part of the Global Technology Infrastructure and Managed Services team. This position provides Project planning, project execution, configuration and operational support to Cisco Data center Technologies like Cisco Nexus family, Cisco WIFI , Cisco DC technologies, Virtual Private Network (F5 VPN), and Domain Name System (DNS) operations.

The Lead System Engineer – Data Center Network engineer will be responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of the Cisco Data center infrastructure supporting the Decennial. 

Knowledge/experience:

  • 10-12 Years of experience in Cisco Data center Network Operations & Execution of Projects to build the Data center network
  • Preferred Cisco CCIE certified.
  • Experience, deploying and supporting enterprise infrastructure including the following: Cisco Routing, Cisco Nexus Technologies, Cisco Wifi, Cisco ACI.
  • Working with NOC in Alert management and resolution
  • Experience of dealing with major Global Comms suppliers
  • Expert Troubleshooting, Diagnostics & Event Log/Management analysis
  • Strong knowledge on Routing/Switching protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, MST, PVST, L2 switching, MOTV, Cisco DC technologies
  • Possess a clear understanding of capacity planning in various scenarios. Knowledge of Cisco routing/switching including Cisco Routing, Cisco Nexus Technologies, Cisco Wifi.
  • Knowledge on various DC Architecture (DC-DR, Active-Active DC etc.)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to interact with clients
  • Experience with TCPDump, Wireshark and analyzing network traffic
  • Solid troubleshooting skills
  • Strong knowledge in ITIL incident, change and problem management processes
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of the OSI and TCP/IP network models and provide examples
  • knowledge of networking and systems administration; and the ability to troubleshoot problems
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in supporting Cisco Data center solutions
  • Perform daily operational tasks submitted by customers through Service management tools
  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware, software, devices and appliances in support of infrastructure
  • Prepare network or infrastructure Visio topology diagrams, write Standard Operating Procedures, maintenance plans and provide status reports as required, participate in data calls and other operational and maintenance tasks

Profile required
