Job Title: Software Test Engineer II

General Summary:

The Software Test Engineer II is responsible for creating and maintaining automated tests from manual test scripts and test cases. This role works in partnership with the Engineering teams to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, and potential problems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analyze test requirements/designs, and produce re-usable test scripts and procedures to test new and amended software.
  • Verify test script against business requirements using the functional specification and technical documents provided by the design team.
  • Understand and interpret functional and non-functional(Performance and Security Testing) requirements as needed to develop test cases.
  • Actively work to identify, communicate, mitigate and resolve testing issues and risks.
  • Manage test scripts, test cases, test results using standard testing tooling such as Jira.
  • Participate in test plan, test case, and test results review sessions and make modifications if necessary.
  • Analyze test results to ensure existing functionality is not broken and recommends corrective action.

Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required:

  • 2-4years of industry experience in all areas of the Quality Engineering/Testing.
  • Basic knowledge of system administration and networking concepts.
  • Should have at least 2+ years of hands-on automation experience in API/UI automation using JAVA /Selenium.
  • Should have good knowledge of Jenkins, GitHub/GitLab.
  • QE experience including test planning, test case creation and execution and defect logging using QE tools, such as Jira.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Experience in one or more automation scripting languages.
  • Hands-on experience automating RESTful API functions and calls.
  • Hands-on experience automating UI using Selenium Webdriver.
  • Strong knowledge of software testing and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
  • Assist in the planning and facilitation of User Acceptance Testing as needed.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as a member of a team.

Educational/Vocational/Previous Experience Recommendations:

  • BE/Btech/MCA
