About the Role

In this role, you will build and develop innovative internal and external content strategies to support the company’s long-range plan. You will collaborate with internal and external partners to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate strategic communications for the brand and retail partners. You will develop a deep understanding of the business and leverage your understanding of industry trends to shape stories that convey the company’s priorities, values, and market position.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with the business, comms, store/retail and PR teams to build a narrative that communicates our company’s business objectives, culture, and values to our employees, prospective employees, shareholders, and customers.
  • Design, edit, and produce the distribution of internal and external communication materials, internal memos, including program communications, presentations/strategies, FAQs and fact sheets, press materials, speeches, brand messages, talking points, articles, and social content. (LinkedIn, Gap Inc Comms, etc.)
  • Support PR team and Gap Inc. Internal Communications partners with overall collaboration as it relates to brand updates, seasonal product news, Town Halls, earnings, reporting and cross-sharing of information.
  • Provide guidance and support to executive management for internal and external meetings, presentations, panels and events.
  • Manage and execute company Town Halls, leadership summits, internal and global summits, etc.
  • Responsible for quality of services and advice in meeting business partner needs.
  • Execute internal and external communications editorial calendars to ensure consistency, and amplification of key messages and products annually and seasonally.
  • Provide council on vetting opportunities, support brand and Gap Inc on crisis communications efforts.
  • Assist with brand standards, guidelines and procedures for company playbooks across style, content, events and more.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and oversee multiple concurrent projects and workstreams with various business partners, PR, Social, Advertising and Marketing teams and Gap Inc. counter parts.
  • Support PR outreach (national, regional and Canada), media and customer events as it relates to apparel and home products, store launches, events and brand sponsorships/partnerships/collaborations in partnership with external team and agency partners.
  • Pitch in partnership with agency support, local press stories and product focused local editorial, exploring Influencer integrations where possible, and helping supplement brand storytelling.
  • Work cross-functionally with merchandising and channel leads to develop seasonal and annual communication frameworks aligned to regional brand and commercial objectives.
  • Establish strong relationships and collaboration with relevant stakeholders throughout the organization (Design, Merchandising, Visuals, Creative, Media, Social) to inform on-going and always-on planning and business/brand alignment throughout the season.
  • Function as a thought leader that generates strategic ideas for amplification and activations across all existing and first to market platforms.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and oversee multiple concurrent projects and workstreams with various business partners.
  • Excellent written, verbal and advisory skills, including speechwriting experience; proven track record of delivering exceptional written work.
  • Reporting to Director of Internal Communications Director on efforts as part of the broader PR and Communications team.
