Are you ready to take the helm as the global VP/SVPofdesign for marketing and communications at Edelman? This role offers a unique opportunity for an inspiring, executional and team-leading designer to drive our brand evolution and story in a dynamic environment.

As the lead designer in the global marketing and communications function, you will coordinate across a talented team of designers, guiding them in the creation of captivating branding, and campaign assets. In addition to shaping Edelman’s visual narratives and story, you will also play a crucial role in upholding Edelman brand standards, including the expression of our intellectual property (I.e., The Trust Barometer) and content development for use in multi-channel campaigns.

Critical to the role is a passion for creative, design, growthand innovation. The ideal candidate must be on top of the latest design trends, obsess about elegant experiences, and be a student of storytelling.

Success in the role will grow from past experiences showing: comfort working across a variety of design tools and platforms, experience working through ambiguity by leveraging data, digital craft, & technology to create engaging work, guidance and management of senior stakeholders, and curiosity, kindness & team collaboration across multiple markets.

This role will report into the Managing Director of Global Marketing with a dotted line to the EVP Design Director for Marketing & Communications

  • Note: this role is eligible to be SVP according to relevant experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the expression of our Edelman brand through powerful design ideas and ensure all design deliverables meet quality standards and adhere to brand guidelines. 
  • In close collaboration and guidance from the EVP Design Director for Marketing & Communications, the Global Marketing and Communications Design Lead will: 
  • Respond to marketing briefs and produce remarkable campaigns that drive awareness, retention, loyalty, and growth 
  • Generate design work to be leveraged globally across employee and client-facing newsletters, townhalls/events and social media channels. 
  • Collaborate with the Global Website tolead website design, translating campaigns and design concepts into functional and visually appealing web pages, ensuring responsiveness and optimal user experience across devices. 
  • Steward our brand guidelines, ensuring consistency of design, experience, naming conventions, service offerings, and the customer journey across all surfaces and channels 
  • Translate complex data sets into visually engaging and easily understandable graphics, charts, and infographics 
  • Collaborate with data analysts and researchers to visually communicate key insights and findings to internal stakeholders and external audiences 
  • Drive collaboration and connectivity across global design network 
  • Drive partnership with Global Marketing, Business Development, and Design Production 

Additional Management Responsibilities:

  • create and manage operational and resourcing processes to optimize design team’s time and skillset and shape the team for continued growth
  • Establish and refine design processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness within the team 
  • Define roles, responsibilities, and workflows to optimize collaboration and output 
  • Implement tools and systems to streamline design operations, such as project management software, asset libraries, and version control systems 
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development 

Qualifications:

  • 8-10+ years of experience in design 
  • Proven track record of Corporate Communications and Storytelling 
  • Mastery of the human-centered design process 
  • Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams 
  • Experience building and leading teams of designers 
  • Experience building and managing relationships with external partners 
  • Adept at synthesizing data and distilling complexity 
  • A passion for inclusive leadership and creative collaboration
