Senior Financial Analyst- Financial Risk Management - Liquidity

What you'll do:

The Financial Risk Management team serves as a second line of defense on risks related to Financial Risk, such as Market Risk, IRR and Liquidity Risk.

As a Senior Financial Analyst specializing in financial risk management, you will be responsible for overseeing and challenging risks related to liquidity, investment portfolios, asset and liability management, and capital. Your expertise and analysis will contribute to maintaining a robust risk management framework and supporting strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of banking experience and possess strong technical skills, including working with data and reporting tools.

What we are looking for:

  • Oversee and challenge financial risk management practices, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Analyze and assess liquidity risk, providing recommendations for optimizing the risk-return profile.
  • Understand and produce liquidity metrics and leverage existing framework to effectively support ongoing liquidity oversight requirements
  • Develop, enhance and periodically review methodologies and models for internal liquidity stress tests (ILSTs) and liquidity cash-flow forecasting for on and off-balance sheet exposures and associated documentation of ILST model
  • Perform product level stress testing calibrations and cash flow impacts based on strong collaboration and engagement with partners across Business, Treasury and Risk functions
  • Conduct thorough assessments of asset and liability management risks, identifying potential vulnerabilities and recommending risk mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with second line of defense management and first line counterparts across the organization, including Treasury, Finance, Risk and Compliance, to provide risk oversight and ensure alignment with risk management objectives.
  • Utilize data and reporting tools to perform risk analysis, scenario testing, and stress testing to assess the impact on the organization under various market conditions.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for management, regulators, and other stakeholders, effectively communicating risk exposures, trends, and recommendations.
  • Reporting - Oversees and provides reports on risk positions, the Asset-Liability Committee (ALCO), and other areas of responsibility to the appropriate parties

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, CFA) is highly desirable.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Minimum of five years of banking experience, with a strong focus on Asset Liability Management and Corporate Treasury. Liquidity Risk Management Experience is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of liquidity risk management, investment analysis, asset and liability management, and capital risk.
  • Proficient in working with data and reporting tools, such as Excel, SQL, or business intelligence platforms.
  • Extensive knowledge of regulatory rules (LCR, NSFR, Enhanced Prudential Standards, Liquidity Stress Testing) and understanding of best practices. Knowledge of risk appetite and limit setting is desirable. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to build effective relationships across departments and levels of the organization.
  • Experience with ALM cashflow system (Empyrean, QRM) is preferred. Professional certifications such as FRM (Financial Risk Manager) or PRM (Professional Risk Manager) are a plus.
