The mandate of Global L&D is to develop and execute a global learning strategy in partnership with both global and member firm leadership that builds the capabilities needed to achieve KPMG's business strategies and priority annual business goals.

Global L&D works closely with the business to identify/design/curate, develop, coordinate and deliver high quality, efficient and effective learning and performance support solutions directly aligned to KPMG's needs and requirements.

Global L&D is responsible for developing and overseeing the execution of the L&D strategies for:

  • Global Audit, Global Tax and Legal, and Global Advisory
  • Global strategic cross-functional opportunities

The Project Manager reports to the Project and Resource Lead and is responsible for managing a portfolio of assigned projects for Global Learning & Development. Projects will range in size from simple projects with a single deliverable to complex projects with many deliverables and dependencies. This role is responsible for scheduling the project, ensuring it adheres to our agreed development processes, project management standards, time and budget requirements and that quality assurance processes are incorporated into the project plan. The Project Manager will proactively monitor the project’s progression and communicate with relevant team members as appropriate, to ensure the project stays on track and co-ordinate reporting on project status for stakeholders. The Project Manager will, as needed, contribute to the analysis of processes and data to identify opportunities for improvements and efficiencies for both the Global L&D team and related stakeholders.

What you will do

  • Conducts end-to-end project management, applying consistent project management standards and quality assurance
  • Manages a portfolio of projects for Global Learning and Development
  • Develops detailed project schedules in Clarizen for complex projects including interdependencies
  • Identifies and manages interdependencies and risks or escalates for resolution
  • Ensures project compliance with Global L&D development processes
  • Proactively monitors and supports projects to ensure plans are meeting quality, cost and time goals
  • Establishes and holds regular project meetings for assigned specific projects, documenting outcomes and updates project plans as required
  • Ensures transparency and accountability by supporting management reporting
  • Works with the other members of the Project Management team to ensure timely and accurate reporting of the project portfolio is provided to Global People leadership, Global L&D Leadership and business stakeholders:
  • Prepares project dashboards and reports for specific projects or across the portfolio as required
  • Maintains ongoing, productive relationships with stakeholders and team members across project teams
  • Participation in global networks, maximising virtual collaboration, knowledge sharing and best practices
  • Takes initiative to stay abreast of latest project management trends and practices
  • Participates in internal and external forums to identify emerging trends and best practices in project management for potential implementation within the Global People team
  • Other duties as required

What you bring to the role

  • Post Secondary Degree
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent qualification would be desirable
  • Project management/ Project coordination experience with the ability to work cross border and virtually
  • Experience working in a complex international or diverse cross-cultural environment ideally gained in a professional services firm
  • Comfortable with complexity and finding a new paths or solutions
  • ­Collaborative and with the ability to establish and build strong, professional relationships both internally and externally
  • Strong organization skills, attention to detail and ability to manage competing deliverables
  • ­Strong technical skills in MS Office and SharePoint and experience working with Project Management software
  • ­Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Confidence in working in an ambiguous, constantly changing environment and prepared to be responsive and flexible
