  • We expect our Senior Test Engineers to have a solid working knowledge of exploratory testing/context driven testing and understanding of what good test automation looks like
  • We are looking for a Senior Test Engineer who is a critical thinker and a powerful advocate for our users. You’ll be embedded in a fully cross functional team working closely with your teammates to determine what needs to be built, identify risks early and apply the appropriate test approach

Senior Testers At Collibra are responsible for

  • You will be expected to gain an understanding of the product under test and use this understanding alongside your testing experience to question and identify bugs and improvements to the product features delivered 
  • You can inspire and advocate a better understanding of overall quality by driving good testing practices and more importantly instill testing in the team
  • Proactively engage with peers on testing cross-product dependencies and alert engineering teams / stakeholders about risks and unaddressed dependencies that could impact the product quality
  • Bringing new ideas and innovations to the team and when necessary hold the team accountable for testing and quality
  • Coach developers and testers on good testing practices and techniques within your agile team and the wider Test engineering community

You have

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Software Testing
  • Experience in representing testing/quality in an Agile environment is crucial. You should be able to describe your inputs in Agile ceremonies and the entire SDLC in past roles as well as how you have helped to shape a test-first mentality
  • Ability to interpret code at a high level, including locating tests within a codebase, understanding the intent, and debugging through log analysis, as well as comprehension of system architecture
  • Comprehensive understanding of testing at various layers and the ability to strategize and implement tests accordingly
  • Experience in back-end testing, including APIs, and a solid grasp of branching strategies, pipelines, and their impact on testing and quality
  • Good communication skills and you enjoy collaborating with fellow co-workers
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent related working experience is required
  • You must have work authorization to work in Prague, CZ

  • Passionate about testing and quality
  • You are familiar with exploratory testing and applying it to test new features and changes in product
  • You have the experience to evangelize and make necessary changes to test strategy based on the context and evolving objectives
  • You can communicate clearly in different levels of technical expertise, such as non technical discussions with Product managers or technical conversations with engineers
  • Excitement about new technologies and provide mentorship and share knowledge with other engineers

Measures of success:

  • Within your first month, you will complete your onboarding and all the mandatory learnings, whilst becoming familiar with the product, tech stack, engineering, test and release processes
  • Within your third month, you will be actively contributing to the testing of stories and epics, looking over the processes and improvements to test coverage
  • Within your sixth month, you will own testing on the projects and be driving the team on quality improvements
