We’re seeking a talented Lead Front End Software Engineer to take a leadership role in our web development projects, overseeing the creation of visually appealing, user-friendly interfaces and ensuring the seamless functionality of web applications and to help deliver our next generation software solutions. The ideal candidate is a forward and innovative thinker, experienced with transformative projects and has a successful track record working collaboratively with cross-functional team members. A delivery focus with experience in multiple technology stacks who is able to present different solutions/approaches to solve problems. Practical experience creating Service Oriented Architectural solutions and the ability to mentor team members are key skills. The ability to thrive within the Agile framework and contributing ways to constantly improve the practice is desired. 

Responsibilities

The responsibilities for this role include guiding front-end engineers, collaborating with designers, and translating design concepts into interactive web experiences. This role requires technical expertise in Azure, C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end frameworks (where React is required), as well as strong leadership and project management skills to deliver high-quality web solutions. Knowledge and/or experience with a content management system (CMS) is highly desired, but not required.

As our Lead Software Engineer, you will:

  • Lead and mentor front-end engineers, providing guidance on coding standards, best practices, engineering solutions, patterns, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with designers to transform design mockups and wireframes into responsive and interactive web applications, ensuring a seamless user experience.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of front-end development projects, including setting project milestones, managing timelines, and coordinating resources.
  • Conduct code reviews, testing, and optimization to ensure the performance, security, and cross-browser compatibility of web applications.
  • Leading front-end technical strategy and direction.
  • Participating in the design and development of new features.
  • Ensuring high-quality code and optimizing applications for performance.
  • Creating and integrating user interfaces.
  • Software and software components maintenance (upgrades, patching, etc.).
  • Following and promoting best practices.
  • Owning the technical output and front-end standards for the team.
  • Ensuring engineering and operational excellence.
  • Leading the research, design, development, and maintenance of front-end applications and architecture.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end libraries/frameworks (e.g., Angular, Vue.js) with a strong portfolio showcasing previous projects.
  • Strong React experience.
  • Azure cloud development experience is required. Understanding of Azure DevOps tools (Repos, Pipelines, etc.)
  • Understanding of Terraform (Infrastructure as code) is highly desired.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or senior engineer role, with the ability to guide and mentor front-end engineers.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • 8+ years of experience in all aspects of the application development process; including User Story elaboration, technical design, coding, deployment leadership, and the creation of documentation. Agile/Scrum experience highly desired.
  • 8+ years of development experience delivering scalable full stack solutions utilizing some of the following technologies: C#, .NET Core, React, Vue, or AngularJS, SQL Server, Cosmos database. Azure experience highly desired.
  • 5+ years of experience delivering Service Oriented Architectural solutions on either AWS or Azure.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in one or more of these technologies is desired: Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, Azure Functions, Transactional queues, Data Lake.
  • Experience with CI/CD Pipeline systems including Azure CI/CD.
  • Excellent, demonstratable written and oral communications skills required.
