SUMMARY

The Senior Writer is responsible for writing compelling stories that illustrate the case for supporting Rochester Regional Health (RRH). The role will create impactful content for a variety of audiences and channels in support of fundraising goals for hospitals, service lines, and programs across the system. The Senior Writer must be able to convey complex healthcare concepts into easy-to-understand language and align content with key messages from system leaders. The role will conduct research and gather background information to develop thoughtful and inspiring content for fundraising, cultivation, and stewardship communications. The Senior Writer is a member of the Donor Engagement team within the Foundation.

STATUS: Full Time 

LOCATION: Evelyn Brandon Health Center 

DEPARTMENT: Behavioral Health

SCHEDULE: Weekdays, 8am-4:30pm or 8:30am-5pm

ATTRIBUTES

  • Associates degree preferred (ideally in Secretarial Sciences).
  • Minimum of two years secretarial and/or office experience required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • General Assistance. Process and triage incoming correspondence and exercises judgment with respect to urgency, confidentiality and relative importance; perform a variety of administrative/clerical duties; take dictation, transcribe correspondence and type documents which may involve highly technical or confidential information; file and manage information pertinent to overall hospital operations
  • Record Management. Maintain electronic databases, paper files and records, retrieving information as necessary; may create financial, statistical, narrative and/or other reports as requested
  • Reporting. May perform various types of business analyses, including accumulating, calculating and formatting information into final reports; assist in budget preparation, patient billing, charging and insurance claims/programs

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
