Job Summary:

A licensed Occupational Therapist employed by Erlanger Health System, is responsible for direct and indirect care in the rehabilitation of the patient.

The Lead Occupational Therapist will have the following responsibilities: assist with interviewing and recommending new hires; coordinate continuing education for staff and other related projects; assist director with recommendations for capital budget requests and annual budget reviews. The Lead Occupational Therapist will manage daily day-to-day operations at the different locations.

Education:

Required: Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy

Experience:

Required: Knowledge of general occupational therapy principles and practical skills

Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration

Required: Tennessee licensure and registration in Occupational Therapy. BLS completed prior to going to the unit/ department and maintained going forward

Department Position Summary:

Provides occupational therapy evaluations. Develops an individual plan of treatment for each patient. Provides age appropriate treatment. Participates in team meetings and discharge planning. Educates patients and their families in the patient's treatment program. Directs Occupational Therapy Assistants in patient treatments. Maintains accurate written reports. Serves as clinical instructor for OT and COTA students. Participates in continuing education programs. Participates in community education. Participates in the Continuous Quality Improvement efforts of the department and the Medical Center. Maintains standards as set down by the America Occupational Therapy Association regarding treatment procedures and professional ethics.
