HealthPartners is currently hiring for a Senior Communications Consultant - HealthPartners Institute. The Senior Communications Consultant supports business goals by developing and implementing internal and external marketing, communications, and web strategies along with plans to promote HealthPartners Institute’s services and impact. This position also provides communication consultation to Institute departments and teams to support their goals and responsibilities. 

The position collaborates closely with leaders and staff across the Institute and requires interaction with internal and external customers and stakeholders. This position manages the day-to-day communication needs and ensures the work is clearly, accurately, and creatively represented in a timely manner. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, in Marketing, Communications, English or Journalism.
  • Five to eight years of professional communications experience, including strategy and plan development.
  • Experience working with department and project teams, with an ability to create and execute communication plans to support specific objectives. 
  • Excellent writing and editing skills for print, web, and social media.
  • Ability to follow Institute guidelines related to federal grant regulations and HealthPartners operating standards.
  • Demonstrated initiative and forward thinking in solving complex problems independently.
  • Appropriate discernment in dealing with sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment with multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team skills.
  • Ability to see the big picture combined with an appropriate attention to detail.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office products.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree or equivalent experience in marketing/communications or business/operations.
  • Three plus years work experience in a research or health professional education environment.
  • Experience tailoring communications to health professional education or research audiences.
  • Experience using WordPress or similar website development/management programs. Understanding of web analytics. 
  • Experience in production of print and digital marketing. Proficient with desktop publishing and design software including Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.

Hours/Location:

  • M-F; Days
  • May work remotely but will prefer local candidates for occasional onsite needs.

Accountabilities:

  • Support the communication needs of the Institute. This requires flexibility, strong project management, an understanding of a broad range of topics, attention to brand guidelines and ability to work with all levels of staff in a variety of roles and disciplines.
  • Write and edit general and market-specific communications for internal and external audiences to raise awareness of and promote the profile of the Institute and support HealthPartners’ goals. Deliverables include web content, annual highlights, e-newsletters, announcements, presentations, fact sheets, scripts/talking points and more.
  • Develop and maintain web content to promote Institute programs, research studies and services. Use content management system to format and place content on Institute websites. Work collaboratively and proactively to ensure content remains fresh and effective.
  • Manage the communications plans/needs for a specific department or team within the Institute. Analyze the department needs and collaborate with leadership to develop and implement a plan, including identifying and developing content and tactics that illustrate the impact of the work. This position is responsible for managing the relationship and expectations within the assigned department while independently overseeing development, delivery, and evaluation of all aspects of projects.
  • Manage creative and technical components of projects, including photos, video, web, and social media. Work collaboratively with Institute, HealthPartners, or external experts/vendors to obtain services/specifications. 
  • Develop tools that support teams in communicating effectively and within brand guidelines.
  • Support HealthPartners corporate communications relationships with the Institute, including in the areas of media and community relations. 
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of operations and deliverables. 
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
