Scope and responsibilities

The position of Analyst is within the Clients & Marketing Applications team of the Information Technology department. This position will be responsible for supporting the continued growth of critical business and system processes and day-to-day administration across the Salesforce platform for Oaktree’s global enterprise. The person filling this role will act as a project manager, business analyst and administrator with the goal of managing the lifecycle of the strategic project and enhancement work on the Salesforce platform including documentation of requirements, root cause analysis of issues encountered, configuration on the system, testing support and execution, and training material development and execution (among others). In addition, the Analyst will provide general documentation, business analysis, data analysis, and project management support. As technical capabilities on the platform grow/are developed over the course of work, or to the extent they already exist through previous experience, the Analyst will also take on more hands-on design and configuration work within Salesforce. The Analyst will be immersed in the technical capabilities of the Salesforce platform via project-based activities and provided training, all while working alongside other experienced, certified professionals and will be encouraged to pursue certification, if not already credentialed.

High-level Responsibilities Include:

Salesforce Support

  • Perform routine and basic administration of Oaktree’s Salesforce instance including:
  • Manage custom fields, objects and triggers and develop custom reports, dashboards, and lists for Oaktree’s Salesforce user base
  • Troubleshoot issues within the system
  • Support implementation of system configurations and customizations
  • Support the automation of processes to simplify and streamline administrative and reporting tasks
  • Support strategic CRM initiatives

Business Analysis

  • Gather, document, analyze and draw conclusions regarding complex data and information (including Workflow, Feasibility, Cost/Benefit, Trend and Cause-and-Effect Analysis).
  • Formulate, define and implement improvements to business processes and operations.
  • Document current state (“as is”) and future state (“to be”) processes, systems flows, and data flows.
  • Outline and refine business, functional, and technical requirements.
  • Create thorough testing scenarios, document results and develop remediation plans with IT to address unmet business requirements.
  • Coordinate and facilitate user acceptance tests against business requirements.
  • Define, develop, and execute training activities.

Project Management

  • Provide project management support in accordance with the standards/requirements of the Project Management Lifecycle and System Development Lifecycle
  • Collaborate with the Business Units to define project scope, objectives, assumptions, dependencies, value proposition / rationale, and impacted organizational functions and systems
  • Lead project management activities and deliverable development including preparation and management of project documents (i.e. Project Plans, Project Status Updates, Issue and Action Item Log, Meeting Agendas, Project Specific Deliverables)
  • Conduct project meetings and facilitate collaborative discussions;
  • Prepare and communicate project status updates and issue logs

Experience

REQUIRED

  • 1-2 years of Project and Process Management experience
  • Knowledge of Project Management (tools, tactics, and methodologies), operating policies, procedures and practices
  • Experience with large scale technology implementation, custom development and data and systems integrations
  • Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and best practices 
  • Experience with MS Visio, Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access

DESIRED

  • Understanding of relational databases & Customer Relationship Management (CRM) applications
  • Experience in Salesforce project and/or implementation delivery
  • Experience in Salesforce administration and configuration
  • Salesforce Administrator, Developer and/or Consultant Certification
  • Knowledge of the Financial Services industry, specifically the Alternative Asset Management arena a plus

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Business Economics, Accounting, Finance or related field (and/or equivalent experience).
