Reporting directly to the Director of MBA Student Life, the Sr. Associate Director for Organizational Engagement will directly manage a team of 3 Associate Directors who are focused on advising, programming, and data assessment & synthesis for the 1700+ students in the Wharton MBA Program. This role along with the three other associate directors is charged to create, manage, and implement a holistic co-curricular student experience for the 1700 + Wharton MBA students. Reporting directly to the Director of MBA Student Life, the Sr. Associate Director of Organizational Engagement provides forward-looking, strategic leadership for the OSL team to implement strategies and projects. This person will offer expert advice on team efficiency and hands-on support by turning ideas into reality while monitoring/ tracking the progress of the team. Additionally, the Sr. Associate Director will work with the Director of MBA Student Life on setting key performance indicators to assess and improve team performance
Job Description
This person should aspire to be a thought leader in the work of Student Life, serving as the Project Lead for the office’s large-scale events (Preterm, MBA Olympics, Welcome to Wharton, Conversations That Matter [CTM], Student Life Fellows Program, and MBA Graduation), ensuring logistical and project management excellence, the efficiency of each event, as well as detecting and evaluating project risks, developing mitigation strategies, and ensuring alignment with departmental and divisional goals. Active within the Wharton community, the person in this role supports the OSL brand based on the goals of the department/Graduate Division and value to internal and external constituents.
This person aligns with non-Grad Division Wharton departments on supporting students, including Wharton External Affairs, University facilities, Penn Athletics, Wharton Operations, Student Health & Counseling, University Life, etc. The MBA Office of Student Life is a fast-paced office with high student engagement. The ability to work in a high traffic office setting is key for the success of this role.
