Position Summary:

In coordination with the resettlement team, ensure each client resettled by Catholic Charities’ Migration and Refugee Services is provided with personalized quality case management services and receives all required services in a timely manner.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assess MRS clients’ cases by interviewing clients and reviewing client documents to identify eligibility for different programs and grants.
  • Establish course of action and set self-sufficiency goals with clients.
  • Conduct initial general and cultural orientation.
  • Conduct follow-up reports and home visits as required by specific grants.
  • Monitor and disburse direct client assistance as required by specific grants.
  • Obtain assistance for clients by referring and completing applications to community resources as well as scheduling appointments when needed.
  • Monitor and modify resettlement plan by conducting periodic follow-ups.
  • Provide guidance or education to clients to achieve overall resettlement and self-sufficiency goals.
  • Provide interpretation and translation when needed.
  • Maintain case file documentation including case noting all activities performed.
  • Adhere to CCSN and MRS standards of conduct, required level of professionalism, and all standard operation procedures.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately in English, using correct grammar and spelling.
  • Protect all confidential information, Agency property, and electronic data. Comply with safety rules.
  • Other related duties as directed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bilingual in English, Spanish or other languages spoken by refugees preferred.
  • Ability to manage a high caseload and handle urgent matters well.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • Must possess critical thinking skills and have the ability to prioritize multiple appointments and tasks
  • Detailed knowledge of diverse cultural backgrounds, particularly refugee populations
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural setting.
  • Strong organizational skills and time management.
  • Proficiency in computers and software including Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Human Service field preferred.
  • Three years of case management experience preferred.
  • Experience in refugee case management a plus.
  • Flexible schedule to work after hours and weekends, as necessary.

Physical Requirements

  • Primarily works in office environment, but will also work throughout the agency and off site.
  • Ability to communicate with clients, colleagues, and other social service partners.
  • Ability to operate and use office equipment, especially computer, keyboard and mouse.
  • Ability to continuously sit and/or stand. Ability to climb stairs as needed.
  • Ability to drive, including entering and exiting vehicle as required.
  • May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

This position pays $20.00 per hour.
