Responsibilities

Reporting to Governance & Controls Head of Institutional Banking Group, to ensure staff are in full compliance with internal AML risk and compliance policies/ standards, external regulations, and industry’s best practices. Assurance Risk and Control team is a critical control function within IBG to ensure roboust assurance testing and respective thematic/ specialised reviews for prevention and management of the unit's AML and financial crime risk. 

  • Provide strategic direction, guidance, and be responsible for the development of all team members.
  • Be sensitive and aware of financial crime risk landscape of the bank and the financial industry at large and thus be ready to advise management on mitigation strategies and/or partner with various stakeholders (e.g. Business, Centranlized CDD Team and control units etc.) in addressing the risks 
  • Value-add to the management and stakeholders from reviews’ findings and analysis through targeted training and advisories.
  • To assist in general for relevant meetings and committees.
  • To assess the feasibility to conduct testing, reviews and/or provide alternative solutions.
  • Monitor and ensure that all ARC functions complete its assignments/tasks within stipulated time frame.
  • Presenting at regular management updates on progress status and also reports upon review completion.
  • Manage a team and provide guidance to team members during reviews.
  • To plan out training/development map for all levels of team members to maintain team’s proficiency level.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant working experience.
  • Minimum, 10 to 15 years and above of relevant experience.
  • Prior law enforcement, relevant consulting work experiences would be advantageous.
  • AML/Sanction/KYC/Transaction Monitoring/Investigations related knowledge would be essential.
  • Detail oriented, analytical, and inquisitive
  • Able to apply critical thinking in times of urgency, pressure.
  • Able to apply technical knowledge and make sound judgements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Relationship management skills to enable effective management and cross-functional communication.
  • Adaptable to a fast-paced environment and able to provide direction/steer under pressure.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and with others.
  • Able to manage a team and provide guidance on problem resolution.
