The IT Technical manager is responsible to manage team, assign tasks, managing tasks, delegation of work duties, leading technical area of large-scale implementations and enhance digital applications and domain APIs built on cloud enabled technologies to deliver high-performance, secure, and user-friendly solutions. The incumbent will lead the discussion in applying, partner within a cross-functional team to provide technical expertise in the requirements analysis, design, and system architecture of ERP development and integrations. In addition, this role is responsible for mentorship and training of other developers on processes and tools, designing, developing, testing, analyzing, and maintaining the ERP within the application in accordance with the business goals and organizational architectural standards. This role will be responsible for strategic and tactical advice and partner with customers, functional business analysts and other team members in driving appropriate design and implementation of technical solutions to meet desired business requirements. Will be responsible for leading and directing a group of technical specialists under the guidance of Enterprise Platform Engineering Manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. The role requires understanding of business issues and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommends solutions while taking ownership for ensuring support in coordination with the other managers. Additionally, technical manager will work with business, functional and technical teams to track projects and project deliverables, enhancement requests, manage reporting, training needs, functional standards, data consistency, assess impact, coordinate, and conduct testing. Proactively seek opportunities to improve business processes and leverage standard functionality.

This role will provide proactive guidance for solution design with internal and external systems to facilitate maximum utilization of the Applications for business success and recommends solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goal. Provide leadership guidance for global implementations, project, and support.

An effective Technical Manager will need to have a broad range of technical and functional knowledge, with good blend of problem solving & communication skills; and will deliver technical solutions across multiple projects, as well as consultative technical and functional leadership across the organization, from strategic decision making to project planning to governance and oversight. Lead the projects through all phases of SDLC by working with the business users, application developers and infrastructure teams. Engage key business and technology stakeholders across the enterprise; be highly collaborative; drive communication to the business, functional, and software delivery teams; and apply analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify and solve system problems.

Strategy & Planning

  • Ensure that applications meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.
  • Review and analyze existing applications effectiveness and efficiency, and then develop strategies for improving or leveraging these systems.
  • Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of application-usage best practices, standard processes, and local variations due to customer, legal or business mandates.
  • Proactively seek opportunities for support reduction through effective training, root cause analyses and process refinement
  • Work with management to generate quarterly work plans including estimation of time and resource allocation for proposals.
  • Strives to keep knowledge and expertise current with new releases, technology advances and analyzes potential opportunities and risks in adopting upcoming versions of software.
  • Actively engage business management to ensure business needs are met.
  • Determine staffing and skills requirements.
  • Drive change.
  • Proactively mentor the shared service team in processes, best practices and troubleshooting and testing tools.

Acquisition & Deployment

  • Gather requirements, analyzes, creates design documents, and performs impact analysis for application changes.
  • Evaluate, install, configure, and participate in the deployment new applications, systems software, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise.
  • Collaborate with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of new software programs and applications.
  • Analyze documentation and technical specifications of any new application under deployment or consideration to determine its intended functionality.
  • Ensure that any new software integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.
  • Participate and facilitate in the design, development, and deployment of application enhancements and upgrades.
  • Coordinate feasibility studies for software and system products under consideration for purchase, and give advice based on findings.
  • Develop, enhance, and deploy user training content, procedures, troubleshooting guides.
  • Contribute to pre-testing phase of development by evaluating proposals to identify potential problem areas and make the appropriate recommendations. 
  • Manage proposal and support activities, plan and organize tasks, report progress, manage resources.
  • Liaise with company’s software suppliers for prompt rectification of any problems or emergencies.

Operational Management

  • Provide operational guidelines to ensure projects are completed within the appropriate framework.
  • Provide regular, clear, and consistent communication (written and oral) on the status of projects, issues, and deliverables to representatives from the customer/vendor. 
  • Liaise with business users, analysts, and software engineers to assist with quality assurance, program logic, and data processing.
  • Work with vendor technical support to facilitate analysis and resolution to technical issues.
  • Understand and modify Application Configuration as required.
  • Guides technical team in the development of reports, conversions, interfaces, and extensions.
  • Plan & lead testing efforts for a deployment, including creating test plans, test cases, test scripts and performs functional & technical testing.
  • Work with existing systems to track and manage requests and issues.
  • Provide leadership to ensure appropriate reviews for design, code reviews, and standards are adhered to.
  • Create and maintain development plans for each team member, including training, skills assessment, career planning, and goal planning.
  • Develop management dashboards to ensure tasks are completed timely and effectively.
  • Participate in global steering committees, preparing and presenting to global control leadership for the company.
  • Manage team organizational structure with team vision, goals, and defined roles and responsibilities.
  • Manage team to track project deliverables and meet required timelines. 
  • Manage, develop, and mentor subordinates toward the building of a strong team. 
  • Conduct activities like staffing, performance and resource management, and strategic direction of the team.
  • Set employee objectives, monitor, and evaluate performance and provide feedback and coaching, mentoring, and training. 

Incidental Functions 

  • Assist with various projects as may be required to contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the work.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the technology workspace in terms of current state, future possibilities, forthcoming technologies, and their relevance and impact.
  • Develop & provide training and documentation for supported applications.
  • Assist application development with technology design considerations and provide software expertise as a project resource.
  • Attend management meetings on behalf of team.
  • Prepare and lead presentations as requested.
  • Research or prototype new tools and/or technologies.
  • Mentor other team members as needed.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS 

FORMAL EDUCATION: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in related field or equivalent experience. 

Knowledge & & Experience

  • 12+ years IT experience with increased responsibility of leadership role.
  • Experience in supervising/managing teams and functions in IT.
  • Extensive experience in managing team, assigning tasks, and managing tasks, delegation of work duties, leading technical area of large-scale implementations.
  • Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of software solutions, especially in an international/global environment.
  • Experience in implementation and support of ERP/SaaS application. Experience in one or more ERP modules in Manufacturing, Inventory, Quote to Cash, Demand to Build, Procure to Pay, Accounting to Financial Reports or Warehouse Management is an added advantage.
  • Experience with API and Event-driven systems.
  • Experience with command line git and GitHub.
  • Experience in working on the design of integration between ERP and external systems.
  • Experience in one or more Integration platforms (Azure Service Bus, OIC, Kafka)
  • Experience with cloud technologies preferably Azure and vendor integrations, specifically around API integration.
  • Understanding of Container security, management, implementation, and orchestration in a cloud environment
  • Experience in Microservices architecture, domain services and building reusable services. 
  • Application Performance Management (Dynatrace or similar).
  • Knowledge of BIP and OTBI reports, Boomi, Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), Process Cloud Service (PCS), Visual Builder Cloud Service (VBCS), Oracle Cloud ERP personalization.

Preferred Knowledge

  • Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and Agile engineering practices.
  • Agile product development experience utilizing Scrum or Kanban.
  • Experience with Azure power platform services, logic apps, Azure APIM and Azure Data Services is a plus.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT development with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) or other packages.
  • Knowledge on Oracle XML Message Designer, SQL, PL/SQL, Java, and Unix Shell scripting.
  • Experience in Java development.
  • Experience in working with version control and software configuration management tools including GITHUB, HP Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) and SharePoint.
  • Exposure to SOA/REST API’s/Web Services, J2EE, and XML preferred.
  • Exposure to application security technologies and approaches preferred.
  • Experience in project management and system architecture methodologies preferred.
  • Understand and execute the IT processes of Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, and Configuration Management. 
  • Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
