The Decarbonisation Program Manager supports the Head of Decarbonisation (Pilots & Execution)in their view and steer of APMT investments on behalf of the Decarbonisation team. And will leadthe assessment of investment proposals to ensure they are aligned with APMTs decarbonization goals and financial criteria. The roll will calculate the decarbonization impact of proposed technical

solutions and assess the impact against our emission reduction targets.

In this role you will undertake comprehensive research on local market conditions for growth opportunities to inform early phase decarbonization plans and flag potential risks to our targets. You combine the knowledge and insights from your research with a good understanding of the technological solutions and cost implications to advise decision makers on a cost optimal path towards decarbonisation. You track performance against targets on electrification and identify potential risk. You also ensure our investments in renewable energy are on track and accelerated where possible.

Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Investment analysis and guidance: Review investment proposals and assess decarbonisation impact and alignment with APMTs decarbonisation goals. . This includes calculating the Scope 1 & 2 emission impacts, advice on recommended technology and selecting the cost optimal path to decarbonisation. You are a dealmaker to find this optimal path.
  • Research: Support the Head of Decarbonisation (Pilots & Execution) with comprehensive market research into the early growth/investment opportunities for APMT. Provide detailed insights and draw parallels between country/partner ambitions and regulations and the APMT offerings.
  • Value Proposition: Prepare materials and analysis for bilateral investment meetings: Prepare senior leadership and/or investment managers for their discussions with Governments and external parties. Develop the value proposition on Decarbonisation for our discussion partners and APMT.
  • Deployment of renewable energy: Track the deployment of renewable energy solutions for the various APMT sites. Oversee the renewable energy program (executed by energy category management) to Manage escalations andlook for acceleration opportunities.Track progress against company targets. Validate renewable energy credentials for annual reporting.
  • Process improvement: own and improve the growth & investment processes for Decarb, automate and simplify our inputs where possible, make the process more efficient to free up time for value adding actions.
  • Stakeholder management: Developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders through collaboration, managing expectations, advising on risk and proactively proposing risk mitigation strategies. The Decarbonisation Investment Manager is fully accountable for the overall results of the assessments and projects they’re managing, keeping a rigid and focused control of KPIs.

CRITICAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Ideally you'll have an M.Sc in Engineering, Business or Finance
  • Experience in Energy Transition is considered a plus
  • Project management qualification/certification granted by an accredited international organization (e.g. PMI, APM) is desirable
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience leading industrial projects within major engineering or construction companies having direct working experience in the main project execution areas (i.e. planning, risk management, project execution and project controls)
  • Relevant experience in large scale industrial energy efficiency projects or innovation programs/projects related to sustainability
  • Experience in the maritime sector (particularly the container terminals operations) or appetite and ability to go through a steep learning curve over a short period of time.
