Role purpose: The Sales EHOD main purpose will be to accelerate the growth of revenues for the business. S/he will create and deliver sales strategies and play a crucial role in the success of the organisation.

Will have considerable responsibility for the performance of the company’s sales and its standing in the marketplace.

The EHOD Sales responsibilities include developing key growth sales strategies, tactics and action plans per region. Successful execution of these strategies is required to achieve our financial targets. Sales EHOD duties will include hitting monthly targets, building relationships and understanding customer trends.

The Sales EHOD will manage his/her team towards developing, planning and executing sales strategies & plans for every channel including mass market & Retail across all regions, using data driven & customer-led thinking, while developing people skills and abilities to do the job better & more effectively. 

Key accountabilities and decision ownership 

  • Establish objectives, opportunities and challenges by region by channel, in order to establish the right set of objectives per cluster, aiming towards higher revenue, higher market share and lower cost of sale (i.e., higher productivity)
  • Develop, plan & implement regional sales programs by developing field & retail sales action plans
  • Maintains sales volume by tracking changing trends, economic indicators, competitors and supply and demand.
  • Maintains staff job results & skillsets, by counselling, training and disciplining employees.
  • Reflect back to the rest of the business units – become the voice of the market/customer inside the premises in order to drive more customer obsession. Core competencies, knowledge and experience [max 5]:
  • Over 15 years’ Experience in the Commercial dept, preferably in Telecom 
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong commercial acumen – ability to spot opportunities, land on good deals & lead the team through data 
  • Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills
  • Sales planning, developing budgets and managing processes

Must have technical / professional qualifications: 

  • BA in business administration, statistics, mathematics, commerce or related field
  • Master’s preferred

Key performance indicators 

  • Gross Adds/Revenue growth, and reduced Churn per region
  • Delivery of sales projects within agreed timelines and budget
  • Manage and ensure Strategy and Execution and well in alignment between all stakeholders (Segments, Product, CVM, BI, Pricing, Finance, Technology) 
  • Drive efficiency in channel (lower cost)
