Overview

We are the Concentrate team in PepsiCo (PGCS) working across the Beverage, Nutrition and Snacks categories to deliver concentrate for many of PepsiCo’s mega brands including Gatorade, 7Up and Pepsi. We are at the heart of PepsiCo products, sourcing ingredients to manufacture more than 1,200 recipes for our brands. We are a global organisation, situated in 16 locations across 9 countries offering careers in various functions from Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, Finance, R&D, HR and IT. We want team members who can collaborate in our fast-paced global organisation and are passionate about creating and delivering much-loved household brands to markets across the world. 

The role is based in our Little Island Plant which is a critical component in our Concentrate manufacturing network. Operations is at the centre of everything we do, this is where our food and beverages come to life and is the start of the journey to getting our product in the hands of our consumers. That’s why we need dedicated individuals who share our commitment to the fundamentals of our business in safety, quality, service and efficiency. Reporting to the Plant Director, the Manufacturing Manager is responsible for leading the operational activities of the PepsiCo Little Island plant.

Responsibilities

  • Day to day management of the Little Island Concentrate manufacturing
  • environment, both from a strategic and tactical perspective
  • Key driver and leader in the execution of site strategy and initiatives within the
  • operations function.
  • Champion and drive a culture of safe, high quality, flexible manufacturing whilst driving of KPIs delivering high performance.
  • Contribute to and support Pepsico Positive agenda.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and support to manufacturing supervisors empowering their development at all times.
  • Advocate, through leadership, high standards of H&S on site at all times, ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety Site System
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the plant in areas of Cost, Quality, Service and People.
  • Lead and support the operations teams in the achievement of operations goals. Manage the Performance management process with all direct reports.
  • Management of the Operation’s budget and ensuring that budget targets are achieved and exceeded.
  • Lead Productivity Agenda for LI Operations, champion through demonstration and empowerment.
  • Partner with HR in developing and executing core people processes, OH agenda including winning at the point of action.
  • Collaborate across functions to ensure cross functional partnership, influencing, project execution, etc.
  • Ensure pep+ is embedded into the heart of all manufacturing tactical and strategic plans.
  • Optimise and partner with SC, support SC processes through regular interaction.
  • Liaise with Quality to ensure Product Quality and compliance with the Quality System at all times. Ensure comprehensive follow up and corrective actions on customer complaints.
  • Develop and implement sustainable management processes with all operations employees e.g. regular update meetings, communication processes, employee involvement initiatives.
  • Interact with HR on a continuous basis in executing core people processes an effective, timely manner.
  • Proactive and efficient management of internal employees and external groups to attribute to positive union/labour relations for the site.
  • Support and deliver on all strategic initiatives, both at an operational level and cross functionally.
  • Drive a culture of sustainable flexible manufacturing with a focus on achieving key priorities.
  • Optimise and partner with Supply Chain to drive operational synergies & share demand impacts.
  • Lead the PepsiCo Way Culture journey for the site operations team.
  • Responsible for all budgetary, people development and operations objectives for manufacturing.

Qualifications

Essential criteria – qualifications/experience

  • Science/Technical or Engineering Degree and/or equivalent qualification coupled with 8 years plus demonstrated track record in an operations unionised managerial role, ideally with concentrate experience.
  • Demonstrated success in the following areas:
  • Strategic awareness and general management capability.
  • Diplomatic, progressive and inclusive management style across functional
  • Successful implementation of productivity, cost and quality initiatives.
  • Creative problem solving within a technical environment.
  • Excellent communicator and ability to build business cases for investment.
  • Successful implementation of medium to large scale projects.
  • Leadership of change within an operations function.

Additional Desired qualifications and/or experience

  • IR experience
  • Lean/Six Sigma qualification.
