Sr. Workday Financial Systems Analyst

ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT

The Sr. Workday Financial Systems Analyst is responsible for assisting with the management and configuration of the Workday Financial system. They will provide support to the Accounting team, be a key part of the analysis and business case development for enhancements, process changes, and testing and acceptance of changes. They will provide functional expertise and guidance in the design, testing, and debugging of significant enhancements to Workday Financial modules. The Workday Financial Systems Analyst will partner with business stakeholders to contribute to numerous projects to increase business efficiency and automate business processes in Workday. The position will also collaborate with other key Accounting teammates by using their problem solving and advanced technical skills to resolve issues. Provide technical guidance, hands on, and respond to end user requests for new features, problem investigations, security configuration, and complex reports. The incumbent will also partner with the Workday Financial team on Payroll, Time & Absence modules with design, development, and testing of new releases and functionality in the Workday system when required. This position will report to the Workday Financial/Payroll Systems Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Serve as a Workday Financial product specialist, building relationships with key business users as well as third-party vendors to ensure that the services and solutions provided meet current and future business needs.
  • Collaborate with business users, project teams, and/or external resources to assess business project needs, progress, and issues to be resolved. Translate those needs into effective technical solutions that align with company initiatives.
  • Support the design, development, implementation, and testing of the Workday Financial system, including executing the pilot, implementation, deployment of new requirements or enhancements to the Workday application and integration support. Author test plans based on requirements and execute test plans by documentation of defects and fixes.
  • Participate in the review, testing, and implementation of Workday Financials, Payroll and Time and Absence weekly patches and major releases. Identifying impact, enhancement opportunities associated with new release features and functionality.
  • Support system administration, configuration, and design of Workday Financials; consisting of Procurement, Supplier Accounts, Business Assets, Expenses, and General Ledger functional areas. This list is not all inclusive. Assist with Workday Payroll, Time and Absence modules when required.
  • Monitor recurring (daily, weekly, or monthly) integration processes, internal and external, to ensure successful execution and troubleshoot any failed processes.
  • Help maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data and offer technical solutions to gain process efficiency and improve data integrity.
  • Provide support to end-users of the Workday platform, answering questions, resolve system-related issues, and following through on any reported or unresolved issues ensuring timely and reliable response or escalate issues to the appropriate vendor or internal system owner.
  • Collaborate with functional and technical system stakeholders to streamline processes and promote user adoption.
  • Support the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of Workday Dashboards, worklets, advanced and shared reports using Workday delivered tools. Build custom reports to include custom calculated fields that provide data analysis support to Accounting Team.
  • Support and, at times, lead other special projects, and performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

The following knowledge, skills and experience and are required for this position:

  • Minimum three (3) years practical Workday experience including implementations and report writing.
  • Very strong analytical, comprehension, and problem-solving skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with associates to troubleshoot and address technical and process issues.
  • Ability to master new tasks quickly.
  • Avid and positive team player who works well across a multi-disciplined organization.
  • Ability to work with both accounting and non-accounting professionals.
  • Self-motivated; able to work independently and communicate effectively to all levels in the organization.
  • Dedication to teamwork and strong personal integrity
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, with emphasis on Excel (pivot tables, vlookup, etc.)
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage rapidly changing assignments in a team environment.
  • Exhibits flexibility and willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments.
  • Strong desire to learn new Workday modules as needed.
  • Flexibility to travel, as needed.

EDUCATION

  • College degree preferred, preferably in Accounting or Business discipline.
  • Experience with Workday Financials, HRIS, or Payroll systems is required.
