DESCRIPTION

Senior Sustainability Coordinator – Remote

Michael Baker International is seeking an enthusiastic Senior Sustainability Coordinator to join our team at our Moon Township, PA office, or remote anywhere within the United States. As Senior Sustainability Coordinator, you will be a champion for projects’ sustainability goals and requirements, providing oversight, influence and expertise to the project team. You will work on project design teams to deliver sustainable buildings of varying size and complexity, in locations throughout the U.S. and abroad. Responsibilities include, but will not be limited to, the following activities:

  • Implement project-specific sustainability plans and provide the oversight necessary to ensure achievement of sustainability requirements and/or goals.

  • Interface with clients, project managers, architects, engineers, contractors, commissioning agents, and certification organizations.
  • Develop proposals for scope/schedule/budget in order to win future work.
  • Track project budgets and project work schedules.
  • Assist junior staff as needed.
  • Support sustainability/LEED training for internal staff, including leading one training per year.
  • Champion sustainability within the organization, and represent the company at external and client-facing events as a leader in buildings sustainability.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or related field
  • Registered Architect (R.A.) or Professional Engineer (P.E.) required.
  • 8+ years of related professional experience
  • LEED AP BD+C required (other LEED AP specialty accreditation will be considered)
  • Experience in the design and delivery of LEED certified projects
  • Experience with the U.S. Department of Defense’s Tri-Services Sustainability Program
  • Knowledge of high performance/sustainable building design strategies, including relevant sustainable building codes, standards, and documentation (e.g. ASHRAE 90.1, ASHRAE 62, ASHRAE 55, ASHRAE 189.1, IECC/IgCC, UFC 1-200-02, UL Greenguard, Environmental Product Declarations, etc.).
  • AutoCAD and/or Revit experience is preferred.
  • Skillsets in related sustainability services (e.g. energy modeling, whole-building LCA, product embodied carbon analysis, net-zero, GHG emissions analysis, WELL, etc.) are preferred.
