What this job involves

We seek an experienced Technical / Hard Services Facilities Manager to join our team. You would be working alongside the Engineering manager & Account lead on responsibilities of overseeing the operation and maintenance of all mission critical equipment and functions.

You will provide support in overseeing the overall technical responsibility for delivering facility services to a client in the financial services sector.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager & Account Lead, the role is responsible for the management of client-owned HVAC, Electrical, Fire Services & Hydraulics and our appointed vendors who are subject matter experts in these fields. The role is supported locally by the Facilities team and Engineering manager onsite.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Facilities Manager must be a team player and work with other members of the team to meet all KPI as set out in the management contract. 
  • Responsible for the main & the BCP sites’ all hard services facilities operation.
  • HVAC systems throughout our tenancies, server rooms, UPS rooms and IT Hub rooms, as well as integration with base building HVAC systems.
  • Management of General Electrical, UPS and integration with base building generators
  • Fire Services owned by client and the integration with base building FIP
  • General Hydraulics for the building
  • Major works owner (power down planning, execution and new/refurbishment project management)
  • Vendor management and monitoring outsourced critical works to ensure equipment is maintained at a high standard
  • Change Management in a corporate CEM setting.
  • Critical asset management & life cycle
  • Project Management skills, (minor works only)
  • Review the maintenance/service practices of all hard services contractors to deliver quality work practices in line with the manufacturer recommendations, established processes, tools and documentation.
  • Contract management of critical equipment contracts
  • Capacity and utilization coordination, reviews and reporting for office tenancy, Data Centre and server rooms
  • Engineering regulatory compliance management for the portfolio of buildings, along with compliance with client-stipulated Engineering standards
  • Identify energy-saving initiatives and work through implementation and validation.
  • Review of all maintenance reports to ensure maintenance is conducted appropriately and performance issues are actioned
  • Client Focus & Relationship Management
  • Demonstrates proactive & professional approach to customer service and stakeholder engagement
  • Ability to interact with a wide range of client staff, including senior levels
  • Ability to manage conflict and balance between client and firm requirements
  • Has a customer service oriented attitude
  • Problem Solving & Strategic Thinking
  • Capacity to deal with ambiguity and solve complex problems effectively
  • Analytical, proven ability to solve problems using a quantitative approach
  • Proven ability to employ holistic approaches and looks at long term solutions
  • Be part of the 24x7 emergency escalation roster to respond to and manage out of hours incidents - Over time will be paid for all after hour calls if need to attend site.
  • High attention to detail

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Trade background is ideal but not must. 
  • A thorough understanding of building services design and engineering management
  • Ability to identify and implement opportunities for operational efficiency/improvements and implement agreed solutions
  • Drive innovation & strong industry knowledge
  • Excellent presentation skills as well as verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop and explain complex operational management information to senior audiences
  • A collaborative team player.
  • Level of communication within the organization and with the client.
  • Excellent communication capabilities (Written & Verbal)
  • Be motivative to learn and able to continuous improvement
