The Department of Biological Sciences at Wellesley College invites applications for a Visiting Lecturer for the academic year 2024-25, with the possibility of renewal in 2025-26. We anticipate hiring three faculty members who can contribute to our introductory curriculum (lectures, seminars, and labs in cellular/molecular and organismal biology), as well as upper-level courses in vertebrate physiology, vertebrate anatomy, or ecology, depending on expertise. All positions are benefits eligible and range from a 90% full-time appointment (equivalent to four courses and one lab per year) to a 100% full-time appointment plus an overload stipend (equivalent to five courses and one lab per year). Ideal candidates will have completed their PhD before September 1, 2024, and can demonstrate successful experience teaching biology to undergraduates. This position is in a collective bargaining unit represented by Wellesley Organized Academic Workers – UAW (WOAW-UAW).

Applicants should send a letter of application, a curriculum vitae, evidence of teaching effectiveness (e.g., sample syllabi), transcripts, and three letters of recommendation. Application materials should be submitted through Wellesley’s online application system at https://www.wellesley.edu/hr/jobseekers . If circumstances make it impossible to submit materials online, please email working@wellesley.edu. The online application system will request names and email addresses so that recommenders or dossier services may submit the letters directly.
