Summary of Job Description:

The Manager, HR Compliance is responsible for ensuring the company’s I-9/E-Verify, pre-employment background checking, LOA, reasonable accommodation and PTO compliance policies and processes comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws. This position researches and monitors changes in HR compliance requirements and informs the company. The Manager, HR Compliance audits relevant HR functions and Operations to ensure they are following established policies and processes in compliance with the most current laws and regulations. This position manages a compliance team of professionals responsible for administering the various compliance areas, coaching and developing associates to enhance their performance.

You’ll get a chance to:

  • Manage the company’s HR compliance policies and programs, including I-9 and E-Verify compliance, pre-employment background checking, LOA, reasonable accommodation, PTO, etc. 
  • Effectively works with Legal, outside counsel, and other departments on compliance-related issues and on any external audits conducted by government officials. 
  • Inform leadership of any changes requiring modification of company policies and processes. 
  • Provide support on compliance-related litigation issues.
  • Audit HR functions and Operations to ensure they are following established policies and processes in compliance with the most current laws and regulations. 
  • Provide guidance to the team on compliance-related litigation or government audits. 
  • Provide guidance and training to the Support Center Leaders and Operations on compliance-related issues and processes and implements corrective action plans to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Manage a compliance team of professionals responsible for administering I-9, E-Verify, pre-employment background checking, LOA, reasonable accommodation, and PTO. 
  • Responsible for coaching and developing Compliance associates and enhancing their performance.
  • Work on ad hoc project teams to address any deficiencies in HR compliance identified and develop or modify policies and processes to ensure ongoing compliance. 
  • Conduct benchmarking to learn and adopt best practices. 
  • Develop an efficient and prompt systematic monitoring methodology for various compliance areas and builds a long-term internal control framework for both Operations and Support Center.

Pay Range : M2: $112,500 - $158,000 / Annual * Within the range, individual pay is determined using various factors, including work location and experience. 

Qualifications

Your background and experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business administration and/or HR
  • Minimum five years of HR experience with increasing management responsibility, preferably in a retail/hospitality environment
  • Successful completion of initial and periodically required trainings.
  • Obtaining a valid Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment is a requirement of this position.
