DEPARTMENTAL SUMMARY: The Radiology Technologist position provides licensed X-ray Technologists for our General Radiology, Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Angio and Cath lab departments at all four St. Charles Hospitals as well as Imaging services at our St. Charles Medical Group clinics. These Technologist provide x-ray services 24/7 for the diagnosis and treatment of patients in the OR, ER, Cath Lab, IR Lab and all patient care floors throughout the hospitals. 

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Computed Tomography (CT) /Radiology Technologist Serves the needs of the patients of St. Charles Health System in the performance of radiological exams, computerized tomography and image reconstruction, while under direct supervision of the radiologist and the Computed Tomography (CT) / Radiology Coordinator, and within the specific policies of the Computed Tomography (CT) Department. If assigned to either the Redmond, Prineville, or Madras hospital; then you may be required to work in the various northern hospital locations for St. Charles Health System (this applies to Relief positions assigned to Redmond, Prineville, or Madras hospital; with the flexibility and ability to work in all three locations).

This position does not directly manage any other caregivers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

Performs Radiology, Computed Tomography (CT) diagnostic and interventional examinations in accordance with department policies, procedures, and protocols.

Follows Health and Safety Policies and Procedures of Quality Care.

Assists in record maintenance and statistics as requested.

Participates in student training program as requested.

Assists with special projects as requested.

Provides coverage for Computed Tomography (CT) within St. Charles Health System including on call coverage, holiday and weekend relief as needed.

Competent skills working with Computed Tomography (CT) STAT RAD System.

EDUCATION:

Required: High school diploma or GED. Must be a graduate of a certified radiologic technology training program. 

Preferred: Basic and advanced seminars in computerized tomography. 

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:

Required: Current Oregon Broad of Medical Imaging license (OBMI). American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiologic Technology (RT) and Computed Tomography (CT) registry. Valid Oregon State Driver’s License. American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification (AHA BLS/CPR). 

Preferred: N/A 

EXPERIENCE:

Required: Cross-sectional imaging experience.

Preferred: Two (2) years’ experience in diagnostic radiography. One year experience as a Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist. 

ADDITIONAL POSITION INFORMATION: If assigned to either the Redmond, Prineville, or Madras hospital; then you may be required to work in the various northern hospital locations for St. Charles Health System (this applies to Relief positions assigned to Redmond, Prineville, or Madras hospital; with the flexibility and ability to work in all three locations). 

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to perform the job safely.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

Continually (75% or more): Standing and walking, keyboard operation, use of clear and audible speaking voice and the ability to hear normal speech level.

Frequently (50%): Sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing or pulling 1-25 pounds. The use and operation of a motor vehicle for

Home Health and Wound Caregivers.

Occasionally (25%): Bending, stooping/kneeling/crouching, climbing ladder/step-stool (varies by area), reaching overhead, lifting/carrying/pushing or pulling 25-50 pounds, grasping/squeezing, ability to hear whispered speech level.

Rarely (10%): Climbing stairs.

Never (0%): Climbing ladder/step-stool (varies by area), operation of a motor vehicle.

Exposure to Elemental Factors
