Systems Finance Team Lead

Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting a Systems Finance Team Lead within the Systems CAO organization. In this role you will be responsible for undertaking and driving a range of complex budget planning and execution activities across the global systems organization. This position works closely with the systems pillars, controllers, vendor management and business partners to establish the resource and financial requirements for Systems including monthly, quarterly, and annual monitoring of progress against the plan.

The Finance Team Lead must be able to build, develop and direct a multi-disciplinary team responsible for systems financial management reporting and operational activities. This role involves strong and active participation in project and resource planning, cost management, and budget forecasting.

Some of your key responsibilities include: 

  • Responsible for providing recommendations regarding short and long-term strategies including cost/benefit analysis
  • Participates in developing annual and long-term operating budget and strategic initiatives for division
  • Monitor and track resource and financial requirements for division’s long term initiatives including monthly, quarterly and annual monitoring of progress against the plan
  • Ongoing cost management and resource planning
  • Oversee all financial planning, new business planning, budget controls needed to realize the fiscal and delivery goals
  • Monitor and regularly report on all key metrics to the SOC and other constituents
  • Ensure that the financial management tools are being utilized
  • Ensure that the key budgets and forecasting are efficiently and fully implemented
  • Provides strategic support and guidance including preparation and coordination of meetings, deadlines, submissions, ensuring that the Sr Leader is briefed on significant issues and initiatives
  • Co-ordinate and contribute to Executive Committee meetings, identifying strategic issues for consideration
  • Suggests problem resolution approaches and procedures
  • Establish, implement, develop, and control best practices for budget management throughout the division
  • Provides oversight and guidance to projects of high importance within division
  • Anticipating priorities and ensuring clear communication and information flow to meet business objectives
  • Meets with sr leadership and external vendors to monitor progress on key initiatives
  • Planning and allocating resources to meet the team’s current and future work priorities

Desired Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree in Finance and/or Computer Science or related work experience required
  • Must have at least 10+ years of experience in the Financial Services field
  • In-depth knowledge of Finance, Administration and Project Management.
  • Knowledge and experience with a wide range financial products
  • Ability to work in high energy and visible environments.
  • Strong analytic and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrixed environment
  • Excellent influencing and negotiating skills
  • Ability to work across all levels of the organization
