Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities:

  • Emergency dispatchers are responsible for operating Computer-Aided Dispatching (CAD) equipment to quickly and accurately receive and transmit information of emergency and non-emergency nature for Spirit AeroSystems, Inc.
  • Daily duties involve answering and evaluating incoming calls to determine appropriate level of security, fire or emergency medical assistance required, dispatching units and transmitting information and messages according to established procedures.
  • Security, Fire and Medical calls will be a daily function.
  • Employees are expected to be able to prioritize and demonstrate excellent oral communication skills (phone and radio), monitor CCTV effectively, multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environment, handle emergency situations sensitively, and exercise considerable judgment under pressure with great attention to detail.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in dispatching, and/or public contact and clerical work
  • A certification validating your ability to type 30 or more words per minute
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and education may be considered
  • Must be able to pass the Dispatch Training Program and the CPR/AED training course within 90 days of hire and must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Must be willing to obtain and retain a Department of Defense security clearance at the level of “Secret” in order to maintain employment.
  • Must be able and willing to work irregular hours, second and/or third shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and evenings
