GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Digital Product Owner for Account Originations (e.g. creating Checking, Savings, Credit Cards, Debit Cards, etc) will be an empowered leader of a development squad and enabling our Fifth Third Forward strategic enterprise initiative. They will lead and be responsible for collaborating across business stakeholders, development team and sister squads to deliver digital experiences that will increase household growths, increase deposit volumes by increasing capabilities, modernizing our user experiences and technology.

You will be one of three squad digital product owners in the Digital Account Origination Channel reporting to a Product and Channel Manager and will be functionally leading a primary onshore co-located development team.

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for Account Originations, aligning it with the overall business objectives and customer needs.
  • Take ownership of Account Originations product portfolio, defining product vision, strategy, and roadmap. Prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring timely and quality delivery of features and enhancements.
  • Be voice of the customer and represent their best interest daily.
  • Work closely with development team, using Agile methodologies, define user stories, acceptance criteria, and provide clear guidance throughout the development process. Contribute to reviewing/approving user stories, sprint support, and QA testing. Participate in team ceremonies such as sprint reviews/demos.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of customer requirements, market trends, and regulatory considerations to define and refine domain services requirements, ensuring compliance and competitive advantage.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technology, operations, risk, compliance, and business units, to gather requirements, understand pain points, and identify opportunities for the person-to-person payments product and domain services improvements.
  • Champion a user-centric approach by conducting user research, usability testing, and gathering feedback to continuously improve the usability and effectiveness of domain services.
  • Solve problems and make decisions in support of the team, with a focus on driving the greatest outcome for the product and the Bank.
  • Partner with marketing, communication, and training teams to plan and execute successful product launches. Develop adoption strategies to ensure maximum utilization of domain services by internal and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with level 1 / 2 support teams, to understand all issues associated with the product.
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs), annual goals, and objectives to measure the success and effectiveness of domain services. Regularly monitor and analyze data to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous enhancement.
  • Provide transparency and ongoing communications with line of business partners/key stakeholders.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 2- 5 years of related experience.
  • Solid digital product management background.
  • Experience working in product management, project management, Agile or SAFe development preferred.
  • Experience in banking or finance is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to have fun and a willingness to try new things and challenge the status quo.
  • Effortlessly collaborative with strong intellectual curiosity and creative problem solving.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to work through complex concepts/data and present well thought-out, simple solutions.
  • Ability to self-motivate and work well independently and with different teams.
  • Strong presence with ability to interact with and influence all levels of the organization.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature and the like.
  • Extended viewing of CRT screen.
  • Travel less than 10% (domestic).
