Uber

#GreatMindsDon’tThinkAlike At Uber, we take pride in our diversity and working environment that sees you as more than just a person that can do the job, but a unique individual that can level up our organization with a perspective only you can offer. Uber provides a truly open culture that encourages all to voice their thoughts.

About the team

Uber Eats has been a market leader in Online Food Delivery for the past six years. While there are many Aussies and Kiwis that have ordered a meal through us, there are many others who could benefit from our products and services. #GoGetIt embodies the attitude and mindset of Delivery at Uber. We provide the best customer experience possible for our consumers, as well as facilitating growth and earnings for our merchants and delivery people.

About the role

The Delivery People team aims to make Uber Eats the best platform for earners, deliver sustainable supply growth and minimize business risks associated with delivery people compliance, safety and actioning.

This role will be responsible for ensuring that 100,000+ delivery people are fully compliant with regulatory and platform requirements, from improving existing compliance processes, analyzing impact of potential regulatory requirements, to launching and operationalizing new regulatory and platform requirements. This role will also be responsible for improving the safety of delivery people.

Your impact in role

  • Make continuous improvement of existing compliance processes and safety controls to minimize business risks, minimize frictions to the delivery people and improve safety of the delivery people.
  • Analyze impact of potential regulatory requirements and present compelling evidence to advocate for the regulations that are best for the delivery people.
  • Launch and operationalize new regulatory requirements and minimize its impact to UberEats’ delivery people base.
  • Implement new safety controls to improve the safety of the delivery people.

The experience you’ll bring

  • Consistent track record of solving complex problems, leading projects with a large set of stakeholders and designing and optimisation of processes in a fast-paced ever-changing environment. (i.e. management consulting, investment banking, operations / compliance / risk management experience in hyper growth companies)
  • An executor and a problem solver with strong analytical capabilities/data acumen. You’ll find yourselves facing a lot of emerging problems, often at the same time (never a dull moment!) - you are excited to solve them, you address them effectively and creatively, and you preserve when others fall away. You are determined to do the right thing instead of seeking shortcuts (while staying agile and creative in finding the most efficient solutions), and you challenge the status quo.
  • Strong attention to detail. You go extensive lengths to make sure things do not fall through the cracks. You have a habit of double checking and documenting your work.
  • Bonus points, you are proficient in SQL, and have the ability and experience of automating and scaling processes.

What’s in it for you?

Uber's culture and values are at the core of everything we do, so that our employees can better understand who we are and what it’s like to work at Uber today.

We pride ourselves on the amazing team we’ve built. The driver behind all of our growth, our bold and disruptive brand, and the game changing technology we bring to life is the people that make Uber, #OneUber.

For certain roles, such as those based at green-light hubs, employees are expected to be in-office for 100% of their time. Please speak with your recruiter to better understand in-office expectations for this role.
