As an e-commerce marketplace, we also host a wide spectrum of cuisine categories and merchant accounts, which we must constantly innovate our strategy for.

About the Role

Uber Eats Taiwan is looking for a passionate, well-rounded growth minded strategist, Senior Strategy & Operations Manager (Merchant Strategy).

You will be responsible for developing the market sizing and investment frameworks, analoging offline to online new capabilities, and shaping go-to-market strategy to elevate the collaboration models with the merchants via Uber Delivery core business, Uber Direct, and more, which are critical for the growth of both merchants and Uber Eats in the long run.

You will not only contribute to the top line by leading initiatives that foster revenue growth and operational scalability but also design the solution to unlock the untapped opportunities that strive for sustaining growth, which requires extensive business acumen and data-driven insights to set standards of the industry best practices.

This role will report to the Head of Merchant Strategy, Uber Delivery Taiwan and will work closely with leadership teams and diversified key cross-functional partners, including GM, Vertical Heads, Product, and Sales/AMs.

Your Impact in Role:

  • Formulate and lead strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing our market differentiation and leveraging competitive advantages. This includes assessing the competitive landscape, including but not limited to competitors like Uber Eats Delivery and Uber Direct, to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with the country Strategy & Planning team to design and execute innovative projects that drive business growth and propel the company forward.
  • Develop and refine our merchant collaboration strategy, expanding beyond current partners to include key industry players. Work closely with Account Management teams to strengthen relationships and drive critical negotiations on marketplace fees, exclusivities, and optimal utilization of delivery options.
  • Drive the creation of comprehensive, forward-thinking strategies by integrating external market trends and internal developments. Identify significant opportunities and develop long-term value propositions in collaboration with stakeholders across the organization.

The Experience You'll Bring:

  • Experience in strategy, operations, consulting, technology, finance, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in management consulting or similar roles through in-house work or consulting experience.
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets/ Excel with advanced quantitative analysis and modeling skills.
  • Strong ability to communicate quantitative insights effectively through presentations.
  • Excellent English and Mandarin proficiency with strong presentation and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Demonstrated drive for continuous improvement, willingness to take calculated risks, and perseverance in the face of challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of developing and executing strategic initiatives in other large consumer internet companies, especially in e-commerce or other online marketplaces.
  • Familiarity with experimental approaches and scalable expansion strategies.
  • Understanding of B2B technology solutions and their impact on merchant margins.
  • Ability to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities through innovative collaboration models.
  • Experience in offline to online expansion strategies.
