In this opportunity as a Manager, Risk Partnering - Strategy (M&A) and Go-To-Market, you will be supporting business stakeholders in decision-making by providing them with timely and relevant information to maximize value and minimize the risk associated with strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and go-to-market activities.

This role provides focused risk management support to Thomson Reuters functions and business segments. Please read the role requirements carefully.

About the Role

In this opportunity as a Manager Risk Partnering - Strategy (M&A) and Go-to-Market, you will:

  • Support the business develop reporting and processes as it transforms towards a new strategic vision helping TR make risk informed decisions that minimize risks while maximizing opportunities for growth and success.
  • Support Director, Strategic Risk Advisory & Partnership with independent review and challenge risk mitigation efforts for portfolio of functions
  • Build & lead the broader GTM Risk Partnering team in support of TR’s business segments.
  • Oversee the integration of the ERM Framework within the functions and segments you support (e.g. Strategy), facilitating key risk activities by implementing consistent, regular, and repeatable processes e.g risk assessments. 
  • Support with risk assessment of portfolio function (e.g., Data & Analytics team) key initiatives and/or projects in alignment to Enterprise Risk Management program
  • Provide oversight and constructive challenge to ensure that risks across the various functions and segments are being effectively managed in alignment with established practices and risk appetite.
  • Develop and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and subject matter experts within and outside the organization.
  • Oversee and facilitate the preparation of periodic risk reports to Senior Leaders, including Top and Emerging Risks and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs). Ensure risk information reported to management clearly conveys key risks and emerging issues, and is supplemented with appropriate detail to enable informed decision making. 
  • Lead the development and execution of a risk culture strategy for the segments with the aim of spreading risk awareness across TR by engaging senior executives and educating employees on the importance of ERM, and drive enterprise-level activities focusing on the advancement of risk accountability and culture. 
  • Supply risk management training to the 1st line and 2nd line to ensure there is the right level of understanding of risk management theory and application.
  • Provide independent review & challenge of risk & issues registers to ensure all material risks have been identified and managed according to risk appetite and tolerance.
  • Support functions you support with issues management and issues reporting.
  • Support in the implementation of a robust risk technology roadmap, ensuring that ERM tools and methodologies are integrated into the GRC tool. 
  • Manage and drive adoption - as a super user - of the GRC tools, systems, and processes

About You

You’re a fit for the role if your background includes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Finance, Business, or related field
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments, developing risk mitigation strategies, and implementing risk management frameworks. Relevant professional certification (CRM or equivalent) preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 6-8 Years of risk management experience, with knowledge of technology industry preferred.
  • Strategic thinking: ability to think critically, analyze complex problems and develop strategic plans to mitigate risks and leverage partnerships effectively. Proven tack record in strategic risk advisory and partnership development roles
  • Demonstrate ability to stay abreast of industry trends and adapt strategies accordingly. Willingness to embrace innovation and explore new opportunities in industry.
  • Problem solving, analysis, judgment, analytical skills, experience with developing quantitative risk models.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to convey complex concepts and ideas in clear and concise manner. Experience in delivering compelling presentation to senior executives and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies, with the ability to plan, execute, and monitor projects effectively, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau) and automation technologies (e.g., RPA, AI) preferred.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced team environment.
  • Interpersonal savvy (listening skills and empathy, strong written and presentation skills).
