Your Impact:

The Jacobs-led team will serve as MARTA's CPMO Supplemental Services Consultant and manage the construction aspects. A joint venture between Jacobs and H. J. Russell & Company was selected to support the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) as it embarks on its expansion program. This position will be hired through the Joint Venture Subconsultant Program versus Jacobs. Please note that sponsorship is not available for this position. 

Overview of position:

  • As a critical player in our team, your role will be crucial in managing the design process and ensuring that all requirements are met during project development. Your technical and coordination management skills will help identify delivery and technical risks and implement mitigation strategies for design initiatives undertaken by Capital Projects & Development. 
  • As part of the job, technical reviews are carried out to support planning projects, capital project scoping, related external projects, and construction projects. Coordination of Transit Adjacent Development (TAD) construction projects is also required, specifically those that impact operational and infrastructure interests to ensure effective oversight of projects, while addressing and minimizing impact(s) to MARTA.
  • Your role will also involve coordinating technical resources to support design, design services during construction (DSDC), and acceptance of facilities built by third parties for compliance with MARTA standards. Additionally, you will be responsible for providing field and administrative oversight through assigned staff and interaction with a wide cross-section of the Authority’s operational elements and support offices, making this a challenging and rewarding position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reviews/manages design standards and criteria revisions and exceptions. Ensure the design team adopts and observes standards, follows QC procedures, and meets Authority project goals regarding value, safety, and quality design. 
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders and various technical team members. Provides technical scope of work for contracts, task orders, and work orders. Provides technical support for Facilities, transit-oriented development (TOD) and Expansion programs. 
  • Ensures holistic engineering to deliver systems and infrastructure compliant with diverse requirements and maximum return on investment. 
  • Recommends strategies to improve the design team, escalate potential project risks, and propose mitigation strategies. 
  • Coordinates external technical services (Consultants) for assigned projects. Plans and reviews consultant and project technical scopes of work and contract deliverables as required. 
  • Represents the AGM of Infrastructure when assigned. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • A state of Georgia Architect or Professional Engineer's license or the ability to achieve one within six months is required. A Project Management Professional (PMP) is also preferred. 
  • A Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline is a fundamental requirement for this position. The state of Georgia Architect or Professional Engineer's license is also required. 

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

  • Knowledge of transit industry best technical practices 
  • Experience with infrastructure, rail, and system engineering methodology 
  • Must possess high-level analytical and problem-solving skills. The position requires excellent communication skills, both written and oral. 
  • Candidate must understand and create complex drawings and Computer-Aided Design.
