Position Overview:

The MF Underwriting and Asset Management (MF UW&AM) Credit Risk Oversight Senior Director is seeking a Manager who will be part of the team responsible for oversighting a wide range of credit risk functions for multifamily loan underwriting and asset management.

Our Impact:

The team performs credit risk oversight and effective challenge with a focus on emerging risks and blind spots to ensure timely risk detection and improve credit risk profile. The team prepares pre-funding and post-purchase credit recommendations to maintain the credit quality of MF portfolio.

Your Impact:

  • Perform ongoing post-purchase credit risk analysis for the multifamily portfolio to ensure timely risk detection and improve credit decision-making process
  • Work independently on credit risk issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends
  • Prepare post-purchase credit risk assessments to ensure credit quality of loan underwriting
  • Work on targeted risk review reports to prepare credit risk assessments

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of related experience in Multifamily credit underwriting. 2+ years management experience preferred.
  • Experience working in the multifamily mortgage industry or financial institutions.
  • Ability to understand and advance in providing a high-level perspective on credit risk issues.
  • Experience in review of internal valuations, third-party appraisals, and physical condition reports.
  • Ability to work independently within an established review process, ability to prioritize tasks, capable of handling multiple tasks at once to meet timelines.
  • Ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, without damage to relationship to Underwriting and Asset Management
  • Effective, concise, and well-organized verbal and written presentation skills.
  • BA/BS Degree in Real Estate with a concentration in Finance or equivalent experience. Advanced studies/degree preferred.
  • Experience working with LIHTC (Low Income Housing Tax Credit), SBL (Small Business Loans), and/or TAH (Targeting Affordable Housing) programs preferred.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $155,000 - $233,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
