Position Overview:

This role is in Single Family Quality Control and part of the 1st Line of Defense (LOD) within the Single Family Acquisitions Division at Freddie Mac. This position supports the QC department and focus on risk and control responsibilities, issue remediation, coordinating and implementing action plans, project management to ensure timely deliverables, and collaborating with the Three Lines of Defense and management across the company. The Business Lead will work on diverse and complex issues, where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business processes and emerging risks. Our Impact:

We provide strong management support, knowledge and advice to the Quality Control department and effectively remediate issues and manage risk in line with the 2nd Line of Defense, policies and standards.

Your Impact:

As an integral part of our team, your primary categories of work include:

Operational Risk Management

  • Drive remediation of multiple significant and minor issues
  • Support risk and control assessments of business processes
  • Monitor and report on risks and issues
  • Perform analysis over emerging risks and issues

Project Management:

  • Partner with internal partners
  • Manage project scope, achievements, plan progress and deliverables
  • Facilitate and, influence timely resolution of obstacles and challenges
  • Call out issues appropriately
  • Use subject matter expertise to identify and participate in continuous improvement opportunities
  • Design reports for project tracking and executive updates

Engage Business Area, Lines of Defense

  • Develop status reporting and analytics related to issue remediation
  • Work individually and with the business to identify, develop and implement operational efficiency and controls
  • Ability to build relationships across the business and company
  • Ability to negotiate and influence situations and people
  • Engage with 2nd and 3rd Lines of Defense, including Enterprise Risk Management and Internal Audit
  • Present to management analysis over issues, controls, and other projects

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of related work experience and 2+ years management experience within the financial services industry
  • Demonstrate outstanding customer orientation, focus, and desire to provide high value services
  • Ability to influence the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, without damage to relationships
  • Excellent PowerPoint creation and presentation skills with MS Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint workflows, and Tableau Project management experience
  • Strong analytic skills that can be applied across multiple subject areas
  • Experience in documenting and conducting risk assessments
  • Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint skills

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $114,000 - $172,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
