Talent Development Manager

The Talent Management Manager will support the organization in the management of leadership development programs across multiple functional areas and career stages, by providing support for the implementation and execution of training programs and strategic initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the design, delivery, program evaluation and analysis of the learning and development programs identified through the talent development process.
  • Design, deliver and continuously improve performance management, talent reviews and succession planning projects.
  • Support development of strategic workforce planning framework, identification of critical roles and their necessary skill sets.
  • Establish metrics to track and report on state of talent, effectiveness of talent solutions and gauge business impact. 
  • Own and manage executing the annual performance review process, including administering the performance management platform, communications and facilitate training with leaders.
  • Own the maintenance of competencies for each position for effective selection decisions and development plans.
  • Assist with the planning, implementation and refinement of CHG’s talent assessment and selection procedures in partnership with Talent Acquisition to include refining pre-hire assessments.
  • Own the planning, communication and execution of survey cycles (onboarding, employee experience, job analysis, etc.) Report the results and lead action-planning initiatives.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to leaders and team members on talent management and development, including assessing and identifying good development actions and activities that would help close skills and leadership gaps.
  • Manage talent mobility – internal movement of manager and below talent, outcomes, promotions and pipeline build out.
  • Design and manage annual engagement survey.
  • Establish and facilitate focus groups allowing a space for engagement and talent management.
  • Identify specific development needs through various initiatives such as succession planning and lead the efforts to design, implement and manage identified programs to ensure needs are met successfully.
  • Support multiple ongoing programs and initiatives within Performance & Potential, and proactively determine solutions to optimize support for employee growth.
  • Collaborate with multiple business units to determine employee development needs and establish specific strategies to support the success of identified programs.
  • Generate and provide multiple analytical reports from platforms such as Workday, Alchemy, etc. on a monthly basis.
  • Develop communications for Organizational Development including preparation and deployment of activities, calendars and programs. 
  • Perform other duties as required/assigned by manager.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education/Certifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources or organizational development is preferred.
  • Proven experience in talent management or organizational development.

Experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience in the field of organizational development and talent management oversight.
  • Extensive experience in identifying, designing and implementing specific strategic initiatives as it relates to leadership development.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • High Reasoning: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where there is only limited standardization.
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Ability to handle simultaneous projects in a timely manner under minimum supervision.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with and influence business partners at all levels.
  • Exhibits a continuous learner mindset and stays up-to-date on organizational development practices and evolving workforce needs.
  • Foundational project management and change management skills.
  • Must be a flexible, team player with the ability to make sound decisions and multi task in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be proficient in the use of MS Suite Office Products i.e.: MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time.

Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

  • Work may involve light exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, extreme temperatures, humidity, darkness, and/or noise.
  • Work environment involves light exposure to physical risks, such as working around mechanical, chemical, and electrical hazards.
  • Moderate physical effort required such as standing, sitting, and walking in and around the office. Personal protective equipment, as defined by C.H. Guenther and Son, will be provided.
