Description

  • Act as the Fit Owner/Expert for multiple categories, managing the fit processes and providing fit experience
  • Exercise influence in fit recommendations and construction. Articulate fit recommendations and corrections with precision and clarity
  • Manage fit scheduling, support model selection and calibration, and ensure alignment on fit actions
  • Track and analyze fit data to assess risks
  • Oversee the Fit Library, post-fit sessions, and review patterns as necessary
  • Advise and coach team members on fit-related matters, elevating issues as required
  • Collaborate with design teams, cross-functional groups, and vendors on fit concerns
  • Manage wear testing, follow-up activities, and timing to ensure product excellence 
  • Drive fit evaluation processes and communicate issue resolutions effectively to stakeholders
  • Demonstrate business awareness in areas such as costing, raw materials, and production processes
  • Represent Technical Design in cross-functional and team meetings, contributing insights and expertise
  • Attend and participate in brand meetings, including Design Review, Line Review, and Style Review sessions
  • Lead vendor meetings to facilitate collaboration and ensure alignment

Qualifications

  • A technical education in garment fit and construction to degree level or equivalent work experience
  • Practical experience in patternmaking and garment construction for bulk production
  • Fifteen years of technical experience, gained while working within either the textile industry, or in a retail environment
  • An understanding and preferably 2-3 years’ experience using computer specification package (PDM) 
  • Practical experience of applying proven techniques of quality assurance within the clothing industry
  • Eight to ten years’ experience in team and process management
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Candidates with less experience will be considered as Manager, Technical Design
