We are currently seeking a Trace Compliance Attorney with deep knowledge of ITAR classifications to work with a prominent defense contractor on on investigations and disclosures.

This is an exciting opportunity where you can bring your legal background and business acumen to work on cutting-edge trade compliance team while tackling complex legal challenges on a global scale. 

Responsibilities:

• Support a busy trade compliance team for a major U.S. Defense contractor with investigations and disclosure reports.
• Conduct thorough investigations and internal assessments drafting detailed findings summaries and recommendations for remedying potential issues.
• Draft disclosure reports for internal leadership and prominent government regulators including the DOJ, DDTC, and DOC(BIS).
• Advise on, recommend, and develop corrective actions to ensure realignment with company compliance efforts.

Qualifications: 

• 8+ years of trade compliance experience with specific experience within the aerospace or defense industries.
• Skilled in drafting disclosure reports with a high level of accuracy and ability to independently manage caseload of ITAR related investigations.
• Deep knowledge or ITAR and EAR classifications and other related federal and international regulations related to the sale of defense related products and technologies.
• Experience communicating with government regulators on disclosure matters.
• Excellent analytical skills coupled with strong communication skills, both written and oral.

Compensation, Benefits & Location:

This role offers a range of competitive compensation starting at $175,000 and a highly competitive benefits package in the alternative legal services marketplace that includes health benefits, 401K and more. Axiomites also get access to professional development resources and learning and development programs. Axiomites predominately work remotely, with the exception that some clients require on-site presence.
