The Role

The Honest Company has kicked off a search for an Art Director (Contractor) for our Baby & Beauty business! In this role, you will assist in the ongoing creative production of all Honest beauty marketing and promotional campaigns to drive business growth. As an Art Director, you’ll partner with cross functional stakeholders to develop and execute conceptual work that delivers on the expectations of our consumer. 

What you’ll do:

• Drive high-level brand campaigns, seasonal campaigns, and key product launch creative from ideation to execution based on comprehensive alignment with overall business strategy and partners
• Support execution and maintenance of key creative assets, including brand and style guides, social and paid media content, educational and internal communications
• Collaborate with a team of creatives managing and approving work while also executing on select own assignments.
• Ensure consistency of creative and visual solutions across various campaigns, channels, and mediums
• Create creating beautiful work on both digital still/video, print, and packaging.
• Clearly communicate idea’s through building of decks and visualizations.
• Work directly with Creative Director on all creative tasks and responsibilities.
• Collaborate with Marketing, PR, Social, Sales, and Retail teams to deliver assets that reflect Honest’s creative and business goals. 
• Work closely with project managers to ensure alignment, prioritization, and progress for timely delivery and quality execution of all assets.
• Work closely with photographers, producer, designers, and creative partners to create assets that maintain and evolve the Honest brand.
• Act as senior lead to all creative partners on photography and film shoots. 
• Present work and research supporting chosen strategies to peers, partners, and leadership 
• Manage external vendors on all outsourced creative projects.

What you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s degree, and/or Masters in Design. 
• 5-8 years of experience in digital/print design, graphic design, mobile video & digital media, packaging design 
• 5+ years experience in a senior creative role
• Experience managing other creatives or designers
• Proven track record of having demonstrated creativity and innovation with working knowledge of retail, E-commerce, social media best practices so you innovate beyond them. 
• Experience in beauty, natural and/or CPG / lifestyle/ digitally progressive company. 
• Strong and impeccable aesthetic consistent with Honest that leverages our inspired-by-parents heritage in relevant and distinctive expressions.
• Relevant photo/advertising composition background with expertise in concepting and overseeing/directing shoots & production for multiple platform applications.
• Creative portfolio of results oriented work that shows a diversity of experience across both online and offline media and retail channels.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast paced environment
• Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite

MUST PROVIDE PORTFOLIO FOR CONSIDERATION

Bonus points for:

• Combination of in-house and agency experience
• Experience working in Baby and/or Beauty Industry

Compensation

The pay range for this role is $65/hr - $75/hr. Actual compensation is based on many factors including but not limited to depth of experience, skill level, ability, knowledge, education, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
