Position: Sr. Technical writer (Technical publication)

Location: Bangalore

Reporting: Technical publication Manager

Nature of work: Team contributor

Purpose: To co-ordinate with global team and create/modify technical documents (Safety manual, User Handbook, Product information & Repair instruction manuals).

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Originating, editing and proof reading of technical documentation.
  • Create and maintain thorough, accurate, and concise end user documentation.
  • Rewrite the existing documents (owners, maintenance & safety manuals) with European safety standards.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently and meet all documentation deliverable deadlines.
  • Manage workload and achieve results with minimal supervision.
  • Report project status to key stakeholders.

Essential Skills:

  • 4+ years hands on experience in Arbortext Editor or .XML authoring tool.
  • 2+ years hands on experience in Adobe In-design & Adobe Acrobat Professional.
  • 2+ years hands on experience in content management system (CMS) such as Windchill or Schema ST4.
  • Strong experience in creating a new product manuals such as repair instruction, Safety, product and maintenance information manuals from scratch. At least have any experience of 2-3 new manuals completion.
  • Experience in interacting with European stakeholders to gather required product information and kick-off discussions.

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of graphic tools, such as Creo-illustrator.
  • Experience in document translation with multi languages.
  • Strong creative problem-solving mind-set. Experience in agile environments would be an advantage

Personal Skills:

  • Clear grasp of verbal and written English. German language skills added an advantage
  • Proactive, self-motivating with ability to develop own priorities
  • Conversant with Microsoft tools – Word; Excel; PPT
  • Ready to travel overseas initial 3 to 6 month and later on need basis.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in technical writing after graduation (Mechanical Engineering preferred).
