We are currently seeking a Regional HR BP – Lead* (DACH).

  • Leading a team of HR Managers* across Germany, Austria covering the DACH region.
  • Support works council negotiations.
  • Responsible for ensuring local HR strategies are delivered. Collaborating closely with functional HR Business Partners*, the HR Centers of Excellence, and local management teams to delivering HR solutions that are not just business-focused but commercially astute.

Essential Functions

Workers' Council Relations

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the organization's management and the workers council in Darmstadt and Saarbrucken. Facilitating regular meetings and discussions with the workers' council to address workplace issues and promote cooperation.
  • Collaborate with the workers council during the collective bargaining process to negotiate employment terms and conditions. Ensure that the collective agreements are properly implemented within the organization.
  • Have in depth experience in conciliation and mediation to bring matters to a successful delivery.

Other key tasks/Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of organizational changes, such as restructurings, layoffs, and process improvements, while considering the needs and interests of the workers council and the workforce.
  • Collaborate with the global HR team to translate corporate and functional people initiatives into regional impact.
  • Work in tandem with the Head of HR Competency Centers to bolster the delivery of local strategies.
  • Support Functional HR Business Partners* in executing various projects such as talent reviews, performance management, and organizational changes.
  • Partner with functional HR Business Partners* to monitor and report on workforce and succession planning both at regional and local levels.
  • Cultivate a deep understanding of the business and aligned regions to foster productive relationships with internal stakeholders and clients at all organizational levels.
  • Support the rollout of people initiatives across the region, encompassing areas like employee engagement, well-being, benefits, and reward & recognition.
  • Operationalize and maintain DE&I (diversity, equity and inclusion) efforts related to women, ethnicity, and LGTBQ+ in partnership with regional and global leadership.
  • Support the HR Business Partner GEO team and act as a mediator* in resolving disputes or conflicts between employees and management, in coordination with the workers council. Support and provide guidance in disciplinary and grievance procedures.
  • Serve as a trusted consultant, coach, and confidant to managers regarding organizational initiatives and issues to uphold high levels of employee engagement.
  • Foster a coaching culture between managers and individuals, embedding performance coaching into everyday work practices.
  • Provide guidance to managers on employee relations matters, including performance management, absences, and behavioral concerns.
  • Supporting/advising your HR Managers with employee relations activities, ensuring optimal outcomes while adhering to employment legislation, policies, and practices.
  • Ensure that HR policies, procedures, and practices adhere to both German labor laws and collective bargaining agreements. Provide guidance to the HR team and management on labor law compliance, especially as it relates to the workers council whilst maintaining Company standards.
  • Employ a data-centric approach to identify and manage critical metrics and analytics, challenging and enhancing people management processes and overall business effectiveness.
  • Continuously evaluate regional people team programs and processes, proposing recommendations for enhancement.
  • Actively participate in and support ad hoc projects, whether on a global or regional scale, as the need arises.

Requirements

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate should possess the following skills and experience:

  • Relevant degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • HR experience, with a proven track record as an HR Business Partner or HR Operations lead, preferably in the technology industry or similarly fast-paced, innovative sector.
  • Experience as HR BP for Go-to-Market desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of German HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience with HR metrics and data-led decision making.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining effective relationships with senior leaders and business stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, coupled with a proactive and results-driven mindset.
  • Experience in a global organization or a complex, matrixed environment is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Workday for talent management, performance management, and analytics.
  • Fluent written and spoken German and English.
