JOB SUMMARY: The Talent Acquisition Specialist researches, develops, and implements effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates for open positions. Sources candidates for hard-to-fill roles, manager and executive level roles, and ones that require additional steps in the selection process.

Responsibilities: 

  • Facilitates and implements all phases of the recruitment process
  • Collaborates with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria
  • Assists in the development of search committees, screens applicants and participates in the interview process as needed
  • Develops and cultivates relationships with referral sources (i.e., diversity recruitment sources, etc.)
  • Sources candidates and uses creative strategies to find qualified talent
  • Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization
  • Assists with job posting and advertisement processes. Makes recommendations on the most effective advertising strategies
  • Screens applications and selects qualified candidates
  • Schedules interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials
  • Assists with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with hiring managers and other stakeholders
  • Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, start dates, and other pertinent details
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, a related field, or equivalent years of experience
  • 2+ years of experience in recruiting or human resources
  • Experience with the recruitment and hiring process
  • Human resources certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience using good research techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to negotiate with candidates and hiring managers toward a mutual agreeable solution
  • Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment
  • Proficient with or the ability to learn quickly applicant-tracking software or other recruitment system
  • Ability to make objective decisions using sound judgment
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment
