OVERVIEW

The Senior Manager of Workforce Management is responsible for leading strategic execution and operational excellence in Peet’s retail coffeebars through the development and implementation of an effective workforce management (WFM) program that support labor management, reporting tools, and associated resources. This includes leading the management and implementation of new workforce management solutions across the retail organization.

Their primary responsibilities are to develop, implement, maintain, and optimize WFM solutions to drive operational excellence and enable Peet’s vision and mission, motivate and engage employees, and deliver results against key performance indicators.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES

  • Lead workforce operations
  • Create and deploy optimizations in labor to drive business efficacy improvement, including standard operating procedures and processes supporting forecasting, scheduling, timekeeping, compliance, and capacity planning
  • Maintain and monitor labor model in partnership with Finance and Retail Leadership
  • Continuously optimize labor costs by monitoring planned, scheduled, and actual hours with various departments to recommend changes to meet defined targets
  • Lead and manage development of labor utilization tools such as deployment to effectively support business needs
  • Support the ongoing maintenance of WFM resources in partnership with key stakeholders in IT, Retail, Training, Payroll, HR and Operations
  • Support strategic planning
  • Develop & implement transformational workforce strategies to support efficient staffing, resourcing, and workload
  • Manage performance
  • Actively identify trends and deliver data-driven insights to improve productivity
  • Serve as thought partner with retail leadership to deliver business results
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of industry standard practices for WFM in QSR and foodservice; utilize trend and benchmark insights in support of continuous improvement
  • Responsible for implementing and leading predictive scheduling (timekeeping, scheduling) initiatives to optimize workforce efficiency and ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Create strong partnerships with the field, cross-functional and other Home Office business partners to effectively support individual and company initiatives, as well as lead & manage other projects as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years leading enterprise WFM solutions in QSR, foodservice, or retail
  • 2+ years of experience in QSR/retail operations in a front of house position
  • Ability to work autonomously to deliver results
  • Excellent time management skills; ability to balance priorities and demonstrated ability to manage projects independently from creation to implementation to maintenance
  • Passion for coffee, tea, and people
  • Advanced proficiency with MSFT Excel. Proficient in MSFT 365.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Economics, or Engineering preferred

Peet’s Home Office is a Hybrid worksite, which requires any Home Office employees to work onsite (Emeryville, CA) 3 days per week with the exception of any fully-remote role.

The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job.
